Did you know that June is National Safety Month? 🛡️

At JR's Auto Care, your safety on the road is always our top priority.
Let's talk about the only part of your car that actually touches the pavement: your tires.
As the summer temperatures rise, the air inside your tires expands. Combine that with worn-down tread, and hot summer asphalt can quickly lead to dangerous tire blowouts.

Take 60 seconds to check your tires this week:
1️⃣ Tread: Grab a penny and insert it upside down into the tread. If you can see all of Lincoln's head, your tread is dangerously low.
2️⃣ Pressure: Check your driver's side door jamb for the correct PSI and check them while they're cold.
3️⃣ Condition: Look for cracks, bulges, or uneven wear.

If something looks off, or you're due for a tire rotation, roll on into the shop. Let’s keep you and your family safe on the road this month!

This Memorial Day, the team at JR’s Auto Care is taking a moment to pause and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

In observance of the holiday, we will be CLOSED Today, May 25th.

🧠 FUN FACT FRIDAY: Why is my car blowing hot air at first? 🥵❄️
We’ve all been there: it’s a scorching hot day, you hop into your car, crank the A/C to max, and get hit right in the face with a blast of pure desert heat.

Before you panic and think your A/C is broken, here is a quick, fun piece of science on what’s actually happening:

🌡️ The Fact: Your car’s A/C doesn’t actually create cold air out of nothing—it’s actually a heat sponge! It works by absorbing the trapped hot air inside your cabin and pumping it out of the vehicle.

🚗 Why the delay? When your car sits in the sun, the air inside the vents can heat up to over 140°F. When you first turn the system on, it has to push all that trapped, super-heated air out of the piping before the chilled air can reach you.

💡 Pro-Tip to cool down faster: Don't just max out the A/C right away! Roll your windows down for the first 60 seconds of your drive. This forces the trapped hot air out naturally, letting your A/C do its job much faster!
