This is really happening folks…. Amazing how many folks are telling us that they are REQUIRED to use their insurance company’s “preferred” provider in another town.
That is called “steering” meaning the insurance company has cut a deal, based usually on volume, for discounted labor rates and parts.
Idaho Code 48-2006 deems this as an unfair service agreement and constitutes an unfair method of competition. When was the last time you met a damage adjuster in person?
Most want you to do their job by downloading an app to your phone and sending them photos to write a conservative damage appraisal of their own, then send you a check for what usually is half, banking that you will pocket the check and never complete the repair.
Just remember, it is your vehicle and you are entitled to have the repair completed wherever you choose.
Most shops will work with you along with your insurance company to complete a safe, effective repair at an affordable price.
Small businesses rely on returning clientele and sharing their experience with family and friends…
It’s supposed to be the American Dream to run your own business. But in the collision repair world, that dream has turned into an American nightmare. Insurance companies have tightened their grip, and the real victims aren’t just shop owners—it’s the customers.
Customers are mandated by law to carry insurance. They pay premiums for years, and when they finally need help, they’re met with delays, scripts, AI phone trees, and zero accountability. Real accidents. Real safety concerns. Handled by automation instead of service.
You’re required by law to buy insurance, so why are you treated like an inconvenience when you use it?
