A life jacket can be Coast Guard approved and still be the wrong life jacket for you.
Fit matters, especially on a personal watercraft.

A proper PFD should fit snugly around your torso without restricting your ability to steer or move. If it rides up toward your chin when you pull upward at the shoulders, it’s too loose. Sea-Doo also makes different PFD styles depending on how you ride, from lightweight high-performance designs to all-day recreational and adventure options with extra storage. website

That’s why buying one based on size alone isn’t our favorite approach.

Try it on. Move around in it. Sit like you would on the water. Make sure you’ll actually want to keep it on for the entire ride.

This is where the Grizzly earns the name. 💪⛰
Not on a smooth dirt road. Not sitting clean in the garage.

It’s when the trail turns into rocks, water, roots and the kind of line that makes you stop for a second and figure out where the tires need to go.

The Yamaha Grizzly EPS uses a 686cc single-cylinder engine, Yamaha’s Ultramatic transmission and On-Command 4WD that lets the rider select 2WD, limited-slip 4WD or fully locked 4WD. Speed-sensitive electric power steering helps reduce steering effort while still giving the rider feedback from the trail.

That combination is why we’d point someone toward a Grizzly when the question is less “Can I do chores with it?” and more “What if my weekends regularly look like this?”

If rough trail riding is a big part of why you’re buying an ATV, tell us where you ride. That gives our team a much better starting point than engine size alone.

Grizzly or Kodiak 700? Here’s the simplest way we’d explain the difference. 👇

They actually share quite a bit, including Yamaha’s 686cc engine, Ultramatic transmission and selectable On-Command 4WD. Yamaha Motorsports

But they’re aimed at slightly different priorities.

The Kodiak 700 EPS leans harder into work and everyday utility. Yamaha tunes its big single for smooth, low-rpm operation and usable midrange power, and the machine has a lower 33.9-inch seat height than the Grizzly EPS. Yamaha Motorsports

The Grizzly EPS is the one we’d look toward when rougher recreational trail riding is higher on the priority list, with more ground clearance and a chassis Yamaha positions more aggressively toward trail capability. Yamaha Motorsports

Neither one is automatically “better.”

But if you tell us how many acres you’re covering, what you haul, and what your trails look like, we can usually narrow the decision down pretty quickly.

That’s a much better way to buy an ATV than choosing whichever one has the meanest-looking tires.

The R9 answers a question sportbike riders have been asking for a while: what if you want more than a middleweight without wanting a liter bike? 🤔🏍

Yamaha’s answer is an 890cc CP3 triple inside a dedicated Supersport chassis.
And that distinction matters.

The R9 isn’t an MT-09 wearing bodywork. Yamaha gave it its own Deltabox aluminum frame, fully adjustable KYB suspension, Brembo Stylema front calipers and a six-axis IMU controlling a deep suite of adjustable rider aids.

It also isn’t trying to replace the R1.

The attraction is the space in between: substantially more torque and performance than an R7, serious enough hardware for track use, and power delivery that makes sense somewhere other than the front straight.

R7, R9 or R1?
Tell us whether you spend most of your time commuting, riding backroads, doing track days or some combination of all three. We’ll give you a more useful answer than “buy the fastest one.”
