Check Your Tire Pressure When the Weather Turns Colder

Tires lose roughly 1 PSI for every 10°F drop in temperature, so the cool fall mornings can quietly leave your tires underinflated. Check the pressure when the tires are cold (before driving, or after the car has sat for a few hours) and match it to the number on the sticker inside your driver’s door jamb. Proper inflation improves fuel economy, extends tire life, and gives you better grip on wet fall roads.

Don’t use the pressure printed on the tire’s sidewall. That’s the tire’s maximum, not the recommended level for your vehicle.

Texas, Are You and Your Car Ready for Colder Weather?

We all know Texas weather can change in a heartbeat! One day we're enjoying sunshine, and the next we're reaching for our jackets! 😂

As temperatures start dropping, don't forget to give your vehicle a little extra attention.

✅ Check your tire pressure. Cold weather can cause it to drop.

✅ Test your battery. Cooler temperatures can make a weak battery struggle.

✅ Check your antifreeze and other fluid levels.

✅ Make sure your windshield wipers and lights are working properly.

✅ Keep an emergency blanket, flashlight, and phone charger in your vehicle.

A little preparation now can save you a big headache later!

COOLER WEATHER IS COMING (Do you feel it this morning?)… IS YOUR CAR READY?

We all love that first cool morning when we can finally turn OFF the A/C and enjoy a little fresh air!

But guess what? Your vehicle notices those temperature changes, too!

And the LAST thing you want is to walk outside on a chilly morning, turn the key, and hear… CLICK, CLICK, CLICK!

Before those cooler temperatures settle in, here are a few things you should have checked:

🔋 BATTERY: Cooler temperatures can expose a weak battery. Don't wait until your car won't start!

🛞 TIRES: Tire pressure drops as temperatures fall. Low pressure can affect handling, tire wear, and fuel economy.

💧 COOLANT: It's not just for keeping your engine cool in the summer! Proper coolant protects your engine when temperatures drop, too.

🛑 BRAKES: Wet roads, changing weather, and unexpected stops make properly functioning brakes especially important.

🌧️ WIPERS & LIGHTS: Shorter days and fall rain mean you need good visibility!
