As we prepare to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary, the Village of Aviston wish everyone a safe and enjoyable weekend!

Please help make this a great celebration for everyone by keeping a few reminders in mind:

• Enjoy the celebration! Spend time with family, friends, and neighbors while taking in all the festivities our community has to offer.

• Fireworks: Please follow all local and state laws regarding fireworks. Never use fireworks while under the influence of alcohol, keep spectators at a safe distance, and always have water nearby in case of an emergency.

• E-Bikes & Scooters: Riders should obey traffic laws, stay alert, and operate responsibly. Parents, please remind younger riders to slow down in crowded areas and watch for pedestrians.

• Be a Responsible Pet Owner: If you're bringing your dog to the festivities, please keep them leashed, clean up after them, and be mindful that large crowds and loud noises can be stressful for pets.

Thank you for doing your part to help keep our community safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone.

UPDATE - The dumpster is now empty. As a reminder, if your trash will stick above the top edge you must wait for the dumpster to be empty. If you are observed placing trash in it after it’s full (like the picture below) you will receive a fine.

Attention Residents,

The dumpster located at the maintenance shed is closed until it can be emptied. If you are observed placing trash in the dumpster a fine will be assessed. Please remember this dumpster is a convenience for our citizens and not to be used for commercial waste.

The Village of Aviston was informed by Republic Services that a lot of our Village did not receive trash service today, May 18th due to driver shortage. If your trash was NOT serviced today, please leave this at the curb and Republic will be in town on Tuesday to complete the routes.

Seeing lots of mattresses set out that aren't bagged. Republic Services will not take them unless they are bagged.

You will need to bag them and call for a large pickup next week.
