🔥 The rivalry continues. ISMA-MSS points leader Trent Stephens and the orange Acme Racing #19 have had the upper hand over Tyler Shullick and the gold Bodnar Motorsports #96 through the first two races of the season, but the margin has been razor thin.
At the season opener at Flamboro Speedway-Authorized Page, Stephens held off a relentless late-race charge from Shullick. With Shullick within striking distance over the final five laps, Stephens drove a nearly flawless closing stretch, expertly navigating lapped traffic to protect the lead. The pair crossed the finish line separated by just 0.194 seconds, with Stephens earning the victory.
Round two at the Oswego Speedway was just as dramatic. While Dave Shullick Jr. claimed the win, Stephens finished second, only 0.300 seconds behind. Meanwhile, Tyler Shullick erased nearly a full straightaway deficit over the final two laps and arrived on the leaders’ rear bumpers exiting the final corner. He finished third, just 0.146 seconds behind Stephens in another near photo-finish battle.
As the series heads into Race #3, Stephens leads the championship standings with 459 points, while Shullick sits second with 433 points. If the first two races are any indication, this rivalry is far from settled.
