WAY BACK WEDNESDAY 🕰️🚛

This photo of our founder, Jim Harden, was taken around 1979 — and there’s a story behind the belt buckle he’s wearing.

Jim’s Towing had been recognized as one of the top 100 towing companies in the nation, and Jim was presented with this buckle.

But what happened next says a lot about the man behind the Jim’s Towing name.

After receiving it, Jim asked the presenter if he could buy more.

Why?

Because he wanted one for every person who worked for his company.

The presenter told him he had never been asked that before.

Jim understood something that still matters to us today: you don't build a successful company by yourself. You build it with the people beside you.

Nearly five decades after this photo was taken, his name is still on our trucks, his family is still carrying on the business, and that lesson is still worth remembering.

Behind the Scenes 🚨
What you see: A tow truck on the side of the road.
What you may not see: A driver working just feet away from moving traffic.

Our drivers spend their days helping others in situations where their workplace is often the shoulder of a busy road or highway.

When you see a tow truck stopped with its lights on, slow down, pay attention and move over when it’s safe to do so.

Behind every great family business are people who built a foundation strong enough to last for generations.

This week, we’re remembering one of ours — Evelyn Harden, co-founder of Jim’s Towing Service.

Evelyn helped build Jim’s Towing alongside Jim beginning in 1969, but her impact went far beyond our family business. Her dedication to the towing industry ultimately earned her a place in the International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame in 2000. ❤️

Today, more than five decades later, Jim’s Towing continues under the third generation of the Harden/Lucero family.

We’re proud to carry on what Jim and Evelyn started all those years ago.
