We apologize that our social media has been so quiet lately—honestly, we aren’t the best at keeping up with it, but we are working on improving! Now, we have a very important reason to share what's been happening behind the scenes.
Bartlett Shores RV Park recently stepped in to rescue eight cats abandoned in a hot trailer on our property. A guest who had been staying with us suddenly claimed he had a family emergency and had to leave town. Shortly after, he notified us that he was abandoning his camper entirely. It wasn't until we asked for abandonment paperwork that he dropped a bomb: he had left his cats inside.
Our team immediately went into rescue mode. There is no animal control in Fremont County, so it was up to us, our amazing camp host, and our park guests to act. We found the trailer with no AC running, making it a complete hotbox with no water left out. Our team suited up, braved the heat, and successfully gathered all eight cats, bringing them to our clubhouse—now officially dubbed the Bartlett Cattery Club.
We now boast a crew of 3 males and 5 females as member of this club.
Odin, Sasha, and Vlad - Males age2 2 to 10. Vlad is the old man of the crew
Vanilla Latte, Chai, Pumpkin, Patches, and Lillith, ages 2-3 yrs old - ALL needed spays.
As of today, all eight cats have been fully medically evaluated and are officially receiving treatment. Everyone is stable, but we have a long road ahead. We have five females that will need to be spayed, and between those upcoming surgeries, routine vetting, and our initial emergency veterinary bills, our medical expenses are growing.
Moving forward, we will be posting individual profiles and snippets for each member of the Bartlett Cattery Club so you can get to know them!
