While you wouldn't know it with all the rain we've had lately, the sun will come out again!

Gas/Diesel Pumps will be unavailable part of the day Thursday 8/14/25 as we will be without power temporarily.

We're hooking up our newly installed solar panels and will be without power for a little while that work is performed. Rest assured, as soon as we are reconnected the pumps will be back on!! 🌞

The weather is putting our schedule behind. Sorry for the inconvenience, but expect delays in repairs until the snow stops and is cleared.
Please be kind to Steve and John, they're not only our only mechanics, they're also our tow truck drivers and snow crew. They're working hard to get it all done.

We're still looking for a qualified mechanic for the shop, too.

Job description: Automotive Technician

We are looking for a motivated automotive technician to fix, inspect and maintain cars, trucks, SUVs and other vehicles for drivers. Duties of the automotive technician include using tools to find any potential issues with someone’s vehicle, explaining problems with the car to the driver and performing maintenance on the car to fix it or prevent it from future breakdowns or issues.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- ASE certification and 2+ years of experience as a mechanic and/or automotive technician
- Basic experience in performing routine auto maintenance tasks
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Ability to speak, write and read in English
Job Type: Full-time

Job description: Automotive Service Writer

About us:
Johnnie's 66 is a small, family-owned business that has proudly serviced the local community of Dodge County and surrounding areas since 1958. Located in the heart of Beaver Dam, WI, this hybrid gas station offers an array of automotive services including but not limited to full and self-service fuel, automotive repairs, 24-hour towing, and seasonal snow retrieval services. We are professional, established, customer-centric and our goal is to strengthen our team and continue to contribute to the local community by delivering excellent customer care.

We are looking for a motivated automotive service writer to serve as the liaison between a technician team and customers. Duties of the automotive service writer ensure that customers receive the best possible service and that technicians can focus on making necessary repairs. Given automotive service writers play a major role in determining customer satisfaction, the following responsibilities are utilized to deliver the best possible experience for a customer:
- Promptly greeting customers who walk into the shop
- Listening to customers describe auto problems
- Asking follow-up questions to help diagnose issues
- Entering customer information into a database
- Tracking the progress of each job
- Compiling work estimates and communicating them to the customer
- Answering customers’ questions regarding the nature of repairs and their costs
- Billing the customer or accepting payment when the job is complete

The ideal candidate should have general knowledge of automobiles and a good customer service background. Some common attributes that set candidates up for success in automotive service writer careers include:
- Strong listening skills to gather information from customers
- Effective interviewing skills to ask follow-up questions
- Adequate knowledge of automobiles to gather information and discuss vehicles with authority
- Verbal communication skills to explain complex technical problems in simple terms
- Familiarity with database software used for entering customer information
- Arithmetic ability to calculate the total cost of parts and labor when creating estimates
- Organizational skills to keep track of multiple jobs and manage estimates and other paperwork
