Those two things aren’t always the same. Manufacturer guidelines exist to make sure your vehicle is restored to the safety standards it was built to. When a vehicle comes in for paint repair, the goal isn't just to match the color on the damaged panel. It's to make the repair invisible across the whole vehicle.

A blend panel is an adjacent panel that gets painted along with the repaired one, not because it was damaged, but because paint fades and shifts over time. Even a perfect color match on a single panel can look slightly off next to panels that have been exposed to sun and weather for years. Blending carries the new paint into the surrounding panels gradually so the transition is seamless and the finish looks consistent from any angle.

Surface scratches and paint scuffs are easy to brush off, but leaving them unaddressed can cause more than cosmetic issues over time.

Once the clear coat and paint layer are broken, the metal underneath is exposed to moisture. In a wet climate like ours, that creates the right conditions for rust to start forming, often before it's visible on the surface. Catching a scratch early and repairing it properly is a much simpler fix than dealing with corrosion that has had time to spread.

We're excited to be a sponsor of the Wander to Wander 1K in Bellingham again this year!

If you've never heard of it, the Wander to Wander is the shortest fun run in Whatcom County, a 0.62 mile journey from the Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center to Wander Brewing. Costumes are strongly encouraged, donuts are involved at the start, and there's a beer waiting for you at the finish line.

Proceeds support the Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center and their sliding scale conflict resolution services, which is a cause worth getting off the couch for.

The event is Saturday, June 6th starting at 11:15am. Registration opens at 10:30am at 206 Prospect St. Bring your friends, your family, and your well-behaved dog.

If you're coming in for an initial estimate, it helps to have your insurance information handy along with a claim number if you've already started the process. Some insurance companies will have you complete a Quick Photo Claim first, which generates an initial estimate and gets the claim number assigned. If you have that when you come in for our inspection, we can upload it directly into our work file.

If you're dropping your vehicle off for repairs, we've already got everything we need on our end. The main thing you can do is clean out your personal belongings before you bring it in, especially from areas that will be worked on. We'll take care of the paperwork from there.
