Billy’s 1999 Shelby Series 1.
Long story short another shop told this customer he was going to need a valve job and a new motor. So the customer had it towed to us and we started diagnosing it. First we pulled the wires and spark plugs and found that the plugs were fuel soaked so we did a compression test and leak down test and both were perfect. We pulled the upstream O2 sensors out and they were very black, we also took a bora scope and looked in the O2 sensor holes at the cats and found that one was completely gone and the other one was almost gone. We also found that the fuel pressure regulator was bad and the coolant temp sensor was bad. So we installed new spark plugs, fuel pressure regulator, up stream O2 sensors and the coolant temp sensor. Got everything back together and the car ran and drove like a dream. This car only has a little over 18,000 miles on it. We also evacuated and recharged the AC system. We also did oil & oil filter change.
