FUN FACT FRIDAY!
Did you know that in Colorado, your insurance company CANNOT force you to use one of their recommended body shops?
YOU have the right to choose who repairs your vehicle!
Insurance companies often encourage customers to use their Direct Repair Program (DRP) shops. While not all DRP facilities are the same, it’s important to do your research before trusting any shop with your vehicle.
Here’s what you should know:
When a body shop participates in an insurance company’s Direct Repair Program, it may agree to certain pricing, procedures, and contractual requirements. This can create potential conflicts between the insurance company’s financial interests and what is best for your vehicle.
Your safety should NEVER take a back seat to an insurance company’s bottom line!
WHAT’S REALLY IN YOUR INSURANCE POLICY?
Before purchasing or renewing your auto insurance policy, take a moment to review your coverage and endorsements.
You may be surprised to learn that your policy allows the use of:
* Aftermarket (non-OEM) replacement parts
* Recycled or salvage-yard parts
* Alternative replacement parts instead of new original manufacturer parts
These provisions can affect how your vehicle is repaired following an accident. Know what you’re paying for BEFORE you need to file a claim!
