🔥 Heat index values up to 109°F
🌡️ TUESDAY — EXTREME HEAT WATCH
⏰ Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening
🔥 Heat index values could reach 113°F
📍 The affected area includes portions of northwest and west-central Arkansas, along with parts of eastern Oklahoma.
Heat-related illnesses become significantly more likely during periods of extreme heat and high humidity. Those working outdoors, participating in strenuous activities, or who are not accustomed to the heat are especially at risk.
Please take precautions:
• Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
• Spend as much time as possible in air conditioning.
• Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.
• Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing.
• Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and others who may be vulnerable to extreme heat.
• Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle.
🔥 If you must work or spend time outdoors, take frequent breaks and pay attention to signs of heat-related illness.
