When November temperatures drop, you might hear a sudden SCREECH from under the hood when starting your engine! Cold air contracts rubber and makes aging belts stiff. If your belt tensioner is slightly worn, the belt slips against the alternator and power steering pulleys for the first 10 seconds until it warms up.

Don't ignore the screech! A snapping belt disables your power steering, alternator, and water pump all at once. Drop by Hood's Automotive for an inspection🛠️⚡

Dark roads mean shorter reaction times. When a deer steps into the road or the car ahead slams on their brakes in rush-hour traffic, your braking system needs to react instantly!

Here's a Pre-Winter Safety Checklist:

Pad Thickness: Ensure you have enough friction material to stop on a dime.
Brake Fluid: Fresh fluid prevents pedal fade under heavy braking.
Tire Grip: Good tread pulls it all together when you hit the pedal hard.

Keep your dark commutes stress-free by paying attention to those items. Drop by Hood's Automotive in Bridgeton, MO, for an inspection today!
