🏁 Ford is going back to Le Mans in 2027... and they're bringing a naturally aspirated 5.4L V8 with them.

No turbochargers. No fake engine sounds. No apology.

Just a screaming Coyote-based V8 built to chase overall victory at the most famous endurance race on Earth. Ford has confirmed the engine will be developed entirely in-house and will power its new Hypercar program.

A few fun facts:

πŸ”Ή The engine is based on Ford's Coyote V8 architecture but is heavily redesigned for endurance racing.

πŸ”Ή Ford's current Mustang GT3 race car already uses a naturally aspirated 5.4L V8 and competes at Le Mans today.

πŸ”Ή Ford's return to top-level Le Mans racing comes nearly 60 years after the legendary Ford GT40 victories over Ferrari in the 1960s.

πŸ”Ή Engineers from Ford's Formula 1 partnership with Red Bull are helping shape the program.

As the owner of a 2013 Ford Focus, I'm just happy to see Ford building something that has slightly more horsepower than my grocery-getter.

My Focus makes about 160 hp 😞. This thing will make enough noise to wake up an entire French village at 3 AM on the Mulsanne Straight. πŸ˜†

Manual transmissions. Naturally aspirated V8s. Endurance racing.

Maybe there is still hope for car enthusiasts.

Would you rather hear a screaming NA V8 or a twin-turbo V6 at Le Mans?

People always ask if driving a right-hand-drive JDM in NYC traffic gets old.

Honestly, not really.

When you're driving something you've dreamed about owning, even crawling through traffic in first gear feels different.

This is a 1997 Toyota Hilux diesel with only 73,000 miles. A vehicle built to work, built to last, and now living a second life here in the United States.

If you've been thinking about importing a Hilux, Land Cruiser, Skyline, kei truck, or another Japanese classic, the process is probably more achievable than you think.

What's stopping you?

Send me a message and let's talk about your dream JDM.

Is your car's A/C blowing warm air?

For many vehicles that use R134a refrigerant, a simple recharge may be enough to get colder air without replacing expensive components.

In this video, I walk through how to use an Arctic Freeze R134a recharge kit, which vehicles it works on, and how to safely add refrigerant to your system.

Most vehicles sold in the U.S. through the mid-2010s used R134a refrigerant, while many newer vehicles switched to R1234yf. Always check the sticker under the hood before buying refrigerant.

Keep in mind: if your A/C is low, refrigerant escaped from somewhere. A recharge can restore cooling, but it may not be a permanent fix if a leak is present.

Before replacing a compressor or spending hundreds on repairs, this is often a reasonable first step to diagnose the problem and restore cold air.

Most people assume importing a JDM vehicle is complicated, expensive, or risky.

This 1997 Toyota Hilux proves otherwise.

73,000 original miles, diesel engine, right-hand drive, clean underbody with excellent undercoating, and built during an era when Toyota trucks earned their reputation for lasting hundreds of thousands of miles.

I recently helped a client source, import, transport, and take delivery of this Hilux, turning a dream vehicle into reality.

If you've been thinking about owning a Toyota Hilux, Land Cruiser, Pajero, Skyline, or another JDM vehicle, what's actually holding you back?

Send me a message and let's see what's possible.

Where did all the color go?

Take a walk through a parking lot today and you'll see the same four colors over and over:
βšͺ White
⚫ Black
πŸ”˜ Gray
✨ Silver

Back in the 1970s and 1980s, bright yellows, oranges, greens, blues, and reds were much more common. Today, neutral colors dominate the market.

Why?
πŸ’° Better resale value
🏒 Safer choice for manufacturers
🧼 Easier to keep looking clean
🚘 More appealing to the average buyer

Also:
β€’ White is consistently the most popular vehicle color worldwide.
β€’ Gray has surged in popularity over the last decade.
β€’ Bright colors often have lower production volumes, making them rarer and sometimes more desirable years later.
β€’ Sports cars and enthusiast vehicles are still much more likely to be ordered in bold colors than everyday commuter vehicles.
β€’ Many manufacturers charge extra for premium colors, which pushes buyers toward standard neutral options

The downside? Parking lots are starting to look like black-and-white movies.
Personally, I'd rather have a car with some personality than another gray crossover.
What color is your vehicle, and would you choose it again?

Ferrari's upcoming EV has sparked one of the biggest debates in modern automotive history.

For decades, Ferrari represented more than speed. The sound of a V12 at redline, the mechanical connection between driver and machine, and Enzo Ferrari's relentless obsession with engines became the foundation of the brand's identity. One of Ferrari's most famous philosophies was essentially that the engine was the heart of the car, with everything else built around it.

That's why the idea of an all-electric Ferrari has been met with such strong reactions from enthusiasts. Critics argue that removing the engine removes the soul of the car, replacing mechanical emotion with software, batteries, and artificial sound. To many longtime fans, it feels like a departure from the values that made Ferrari legendary.

At the same time, Ferrari isn't making this move in a vacuum. Tightening emissions regulations, changing consumer expectations, advancing battery technology, and the broader shift toward electrification across Europe have pushed nearly every performance manufacturer to explore EVs. Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, and others all understand that the automotive landscape of the next 10-20 years will look very different from the last 50.

The controversy doesn't stop with the powertrain. Many enthusiasts have also criticized the styling direction, arguing that it lacks some of the timeless design language and visual drama traditionally associated with Ferrari. Whether you love it or hate it, the design has become part of the larger debate surrounding the car.

The real question isn't whether the EV Ferrari will be fastβ€”it almost certainly will be. The question is whether a Ferrari can still feel like a Ferrari when the engine, the sound, and much of the mechanical theater that built the brand's reputation are gone.

What do you think: evolution or identity crisis?
