From its humble beginnings in a 1,000 square foot shop in Bassett, Wisconsin in 1965, Bassett Racing Wheel has steadily grown to the industry-leading position it now holds. By 1992, continued sales growth led Bassett to build a brand new 12,000 square foot build

ing located in Twin Lakes, WI. Within 4 years, the company had out grown its new building and put on an addition, doubling the square footage. In 1998, Bassett Racing Wheel purchased its first CNC metal spinning lathe and began producing its own rim shells. Unlike its competitors then and now, Bassett builds the entire wheel in house. This independence from shell suppliers led to higher quality control, lower costs and new product designs. With the Twin Lakes facility maxed out, Bassett Racing Wheel needed to find a larger lot that would accommodate a larger building. So in 2001, it moved into a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in Burlington, Wisconsin. The 53,000 square foot plant allowed for an improved production/assembly process, an in-house powder coat paint line, a chrome finishing room and twice the inventory. Bassett Racing Wheel understands the number one challenge of a racing parts manufacturer is to offer the fastest order turnaround in the business. This desire led to the purchase of a third CNC spinning lathe and third wheel welding line, nearly doubling daily production capacity. Today, Bassett’s 30 full-time employees now manufacture and ship over 80,000 wheels per year.
