The V6 SC EA837 - DL501 revamp is finally here.
This release is the result of countless hours of testing, revisions, feedback, and abuse from customers and our in-house master beta tester. If you're a Jackal customer and haven't joined the Jackal Customer Group yet, now is the time. These files have been rolling out to testers and customers for the past few weeks after months of refinement.
The B8, C7, and C7.5 EA837 DL501 platforms have some of the widest software variation we've dealt with on any platform we've supported, including B9. Because of that, when we push a major release, we want it to be worth the wait.
For customers flashing for the first time, updating from an older Jackal revision, or migrating from another tuner, here's what we recommend:
• Flash the ECU and TCU files.
• Go for a drive in Manual mode.
• Hold either 3rd or 4th gear between 2,000-3,000 RPM with light throttle for a few minutes.
• Then switch to the opposite clutch gear. If you started in 3rd, do 4th. If you started in 4th, do 5th.
• Spend a few minutes cruising in each gear to allow the clutch adaptations to settle.
The DL501 alternates clutches every other gear, so you need time on both sides. If you notice any slight wobble or odd shift behavior initially, keep driving. The transmission will continue adapting and smooth itself out.
What should you expect?
The smoothest DL501 release we've put out to date across all driving modes.
Better WOT shifts. The kind that make passengers question their life choices.
Kickdown and downshift behavior has been cleaned up. We had some issues in previous revisions that have now been addressed.
Launch control options for Low, High, and E40.
For E40 cars, it's simple — use the E40 launch file.
For 93 octane Stage 1 through Stage 2+ cars, you'll have the option of Low or High launch. The Low Launch variant was specifically designed for higher-torque Stage 2+ setups that may experience gear drop with more aggressive launch settings.
So dust off the bench flashers, make your backups, and get ready. This revision is definitely full of pucker.
