Two techs, one classic Defender, and a whole lot of Land Rover know-how.

Tyler and Sam are getting this old-school drivetrain up on the transmission jack and ready for some attention: a ZF4HP22 four-speed automatic out of a 1997 Defender. (Yes, some classic Defenders came with an automatic!)

Classic Land Rovers may be simple by today's standards, but they still deserve the same level of care and expertise. Got a classic Rover that needs some love? We're right here in Castle Rock.

Wondering what Tyler’s working on? Honestly, so were we. 🤔

Turns out it’s a clutch job. That contraption is a self-adjusting clutch tool, and it compresses and resets the self-adjusting plate before the new clutch goes in. It looks odd, but it’s what keeps your clutch engaging the way it should.
