H.R. 1566, also known as the REPAIR Act (Right to Equitable and Professional Auto Industry Repair Act), is a bipartisan bill introduced in the 119th Congress. It ensures vehicle owners and independent repair shops have equal access to critical repair data, diagnostic tools, and vehicle-generated data as authorized dealerships.

Who’s heard of this garbage the car companies are trying to pull —making it illegal to fix your own car or for independent mechanics? Apparently there’s legislation being put forth to combat this dumbassery.

Having all necessary parts ready for repair does not guarantee priority service. Potential customers often inquire about repairs and then expect immediate attention a month later with parts in hand. However, this approach does not align with standard business practices.
