A sweet, syrupy smell is the classic sign of a coolant leak — and small leaks turn into big problems fast.

Watch for:

🚨 Check engine light on? It could be code P0171 or P0172.

These two codes are opposites — both mean your engine's air-fuel mix is off.

⛽ P0171 — running "too lean": too much air, not enough fuel. Often a vacuum leak, dirty MAF sensor, weak fuel pump, or clogged fuel filter.
⛽ P0172 — running "too rich": too much fuel, not enough air. Often a faulty MAF sensor, leaking fuel injector, bad fuel pressure regulator, or clogged air filter.

Watch for:
🚗 Rough idle, hesitation, or stalling
⚡ Loss of power
📉 Gas mileage dropping

P0172 means your engine is running "too rich" — too much fuel, not enough air. It's a common code, and it won't fix itself.

Watch for:
⛽ Gas mileage dropping
🚗 Rough idle or hesitation
💨 Black smoke from the exhaust
👃 A strong fuel smell

Common causes:
🔧 Dirty or faulty MAF sensor
🔧 Leaking fuel injector
🔧 Bad fuel pressure regulator
🔧 Clogged air filter
🔧 Faulty oxygen sensor

Frost is in the forecast tonight — is your defroster ready?

Before the cold mornings hit: turn on your front and rear defrosters and make sure they clear the glass in a few minutes. Clear ALL your windows before you drive — not just a little peephole! ❄️ And never pour hot water on a frozen windshield — it can crack the glass. A scraper and a little patience do the job safely.

Foggy on the inside? Run the A/C with the heat on defrost — it pulls the moisture right out.
