Hobbytown Cincinnati RC Raceway Results and info page for our 27' x 55' Carpet Off road race track for 1/14, 1/16, & 1/18 Mini RC's. We race primarily Losi Mini-T, Mini-B and JRX2's.

Track Rebuild Progress update ....

Drivers stand construction is complete minus carpet which will be the final stage.
Walls have been rebuilt and strengthened. Wall panels repainted.
Screw holes filled on track barriers.
New banners and sunshade in front window.
Improvements to chair storage
Tack strips applied to the bottom of the walls.

Old carpet removed, saved a few good panels, the rest is in the dumpster if someone would like some practice carpet.

Currently waiting on the new carpet. It was supposed to arrive at Menards today, won't be in till Sunday? This will determine how quickly we get back to racing.

Projects to do while waiting.....

Rebuild, re-carpet jumps that need it.
Add transitions to existing jumps.
Make a few new level 1 24" jumps.

First race on the concrete was SCT/Mojave Grom...entertaining to say the least.

Surprisingly the Mojave was the fastest class on the polished concrete. The trucks just worked. The concrete solved their one big issue on the carpet, traction rolling.

The Video follows Robbie Marx as he wins the first qualifier. He also provided more than half of the trucks as rent-a-rides for some of the other racers

Believe it or not, it's race day!

Slick track oval tonight. Looks like Losi NASCAR for sure.Tamiya TT-02, Mojave Grom, Granite Grom, 4wd Buggy have all been mentioned. Tonight is all about fun, we will figure out classes as we go.

This may be your only chance to run the polished concrete oval.

Racing starts at 7pm, practice should be good to go around 3. We are still finishing up the extended scoring loop (10' wide lanes} and riding some things up.

Yes we are racing Friday!!!! Slick track oval. Races start at 7pm.

This is completely for fun. We have tested the NASCAR's and they are better than expected. We will primarily run Losi NASCAR but would like to see some other classes give it a try. 4wd buggy has been tested. The track is larger than we normally run so TT-02 can be an option. Spread the word, this should be fun.

Here is the planned order of the build:

Old Carpet pulled up ✅
Rebuild Drivers Stand: (in process}
Shorten pits on the entrance side of the store by 2ft ✅
Add 2ft to drivers stand ✅
Replace and tilt railing back

Slick track oval race

Rebuild walls to add tack strips and repair groove at bottom.
Repaint as needed
Repair, rebuild, re-carpet jumps as needed.
Seam new carpet, stretch and install.
Carpet will be installed against the window wall first, then stretched toward the pits.

Build a new layout.

It's impossible to put exact dates and times on this and where extra help will speed things up the most. Just keep and eye out, when we get to the walls and jump repair, that is something that more hands are useful.

Random stuff that can help:

Cut up the old carpet to save the better sections.
Supply runs (carpet and wood)
Move track parts out of the way at various time.
Clean, clean, clean. (it's amazing how much dirt and just was under the carpet.)
Drive dowels into the stripped screw holes on the track barriers.
