Does it feel like your brakes just don't stop as well as they used to even though your pads, rotors, and calipers are all in great shape still? When was the last time you did a brake fluid service? Can't remember? Never had one? Brake fluid is another overlooked item on vehicles. Most original equipment manufacturers recommend a brake fluid service ranging from every 2 to 3 years or every 30,000 to 45,000 miles. The reason we do this is because brake fluid is hygroscopic. Hygroscopic is just the scientific term that means it will absorb moisture from the air. Besides causing your vehicle to take longer to stop, the moisture in the system can be causing damage.
