Last night's racing adventure, we decided to take another trip to Lernerville. Our luck there has been less than bad but the forecast looked like Friday night would be the only chance of actually racing.

We started p5 in the heat race and finished there. We needed to be a little bit tighter but enjoyed a nice side by side battle with Chris Schneider and tried a last turn slider that ended up with Chris seeing it coming a mile away and crossing over to take the spot back before the line. It was fun to watch two drivers that race respectfully racing each other door to door.

We redrew p7 for the feature and by lap 5 we.had just passed for 3rd when the caution came out erasing the last pass putting us 4th on the grid. The outside wasn't to our liking because we may have over adjusted from the heat race and we're a little bit too tight for the top side. We got shuffled back to 8th and recovered to a fifth place finish. We had several close calls with super unnecessarily aggressive drivers taking each other out. But we're able to dodge the chaos. We believe we had a top 3 car but the way our season has gone, a 5th place finish is like a win at this point.

We were happy to be a contender, in this class even locally it's a statement to hang with the front runners.

Unfortunately we won't be making it to the World of Outlaws Late Model Series show at Sharon speedway today. Still recovering from the flu and other small issues. We will be out next weekend somewhere locally.

Well... Last night at Stateline Speedway was a big let down for us. We had high hopes but it just wasn't meant to be. I think our slowest laps were qualifying which was not what we needed. We made good adjustments for the heat race but struggled with passing. The B main was our next challenge or so we thought but turns out what got us was the flu. Our driver struggled earlier through the night but didn't think he could be on his game and we didn't want to risk anyone's safety so we decided to load up and head home early (11:15).

I want to give a huge shout out to some big behind the scenes help we have had since the firecracker. Jason at 955 Automotive for the help with our motor. And also Joel Smith at Close Racing Supply for getting us a short notice driving suit. It's the little things that sometimes become big things and both of our little things were big.

Our Sharon Speedway plans are unfortunately for now not looking at Friday night so Josh can get some rest and hopefully recover, plus it looks like the weather may be a factor. Possibly Saturday night depending on how Josh is doing.

This week's plans are to follow the World of Outlaws Late Model Series Wednesday to Stateline Speedway for the Rick Briggs memorial then on to Sharon Speedway Friday and Saturday night for the battle at the border event. Stop out and see us or follow us on Dirt Vision TV.

Just wanted to put it out there that unfortunately as much as we had hoped to run Mercer tonight a couple of small issues are unresolved yet. Rather than go half prepared we chose to sit tonight out. The risk doesn't outweigh the rewards. We will return to action next week with a trip to stateline speedway Wednesday night for the world of outlaw special and plan to head to Sharon Friday and Saturday for the same.

Our firecracker weekend started like last year night 1 was a washout.

Night two showed promise, we qualified p7 in our group. A respectable effort considering we were down a cylinder in the engine. The missing cylinder was very noticeable when Josh came to the trailer. We worked (on the very hot) engine troubleshooting the problem and found a pushrod failure. I could see the lifter was dislodged which affects oil pressure. We decided to load up rather than chance more major damage if we ran.

Unfortunately this small failure ended our weekend. We have the motor taken apart enough to fully assess the issue. I reassembled as far as I can until the parts arrive. We are prepping everything in hopes to make the ULMS race at Mercer July 1st.

This has by far been the worst season we've had with what appears to be the fastest car. Once we shake this monkey (hopefully sooner than later) I think we can actually be fast.

Well.... She is all new again. We went over everything found a couple little things we needed to change mechanically after replacing most of the body and some.of the deck..

We are putting her in the box tomorrow and heading to Lernerville Speedway for the Firecracker weekend. Hopefully it turns out dryer than last years . We are looking forward to our first attempt at a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event. Maybe we will be lucky enough to make the show and learn to run with the big dogs.

Last time to Lernerville we were fast even with our issues, but we wasnt lucky. Luck has never been our friend there but sooner or later it will come our way. This weekend seems like as good a time as any. Come on down and see! You can also tune into FloRacing for the action.

Our first weekend out with the new (to us) hot rod didn't go as planned. A couple of small issues put us in a bad spot both nights. Brakes night one had us starting near last at Stateline Speedway we races inside the top 10 maybe 8th or so but the lack of time to address the track conditions ultimately cost us finishing spots. We ended the night p11.

At Eriez Speedway we suffered from different sort of gremlin as in not enough help to turn the car around in the very short window between qualifying and the heat race causing us to miss the heat race we needed 5 more minutes. We started last in the b main and raced to one spot out of the show. It was disappointing to say the least but thanks to the generous sponsors and the hard work from the event organizing wasn't a total loss of a night.

We do feel like we let our partners and fans down somewhat as we feel like we can be more competitive in the near future. We have to make sure we work harder in the future. The change of chassis will be a learning curve as well so patience will be our new friend.

Our plan is to head to Lernerville Speedway Friday night and then see how the wet stuff treats us through the weekend.

Finally, time to put our first laps on this Longhorn with Stateline Speedway and the Andy Kania Memorial Race at Eriez Speedway on the schedule for this weekend.
