Capital Waste Services was founded in Columbia, South Carolina in 2015 with a goal to provide world-class service to our neighbors. Our customer base consists of 9,500 commercial and industrial customers and over 65,000 residential customers throughout our service footprint. While a fairly new company, our leadership team members are far from waste industry rookies. Their decades of experience hav

e led to our company’s foundational belief - there’s a better way to do business and a better way to treat the businesses in our communities. We do not answer to Wall Street but rather we’re accountable to our guiding principles, employees, and customers. Capital Waste Services will remain OPEN and operating on our regular collection schedule this Friday, Juneteenth holiday.

There will be no delays to residential, commercial, or roll-off services. Please have your carts out by your normal collection time.

🎓🚛 Congratulations to Hunter Halliday on graduating from the CWS Leadership Academy! 🚛🎓

Hunter joined Capital Waste Services as a trainee and has successfully completed the Leadership Academy, stepping into his new role as a Route Manager.

Over the past several months, Hunter has worked closely with VP of Operations Integration, Rich Sarac, gaining hands-on experience and helping optimize routes to create a better experience for both our customers and drivers.

Our Chattanooga, Tennessee drivers took some time to sharpen their backing skills because precision matters, especially behind the wheel of a garbage truck. From tight neighborhoods to tricky pickups, safe backing helps keep our team and community rolling smoothly.

Fun fact: backing accidents are one of the most common challenges for drivers, which is why practice like this is such a big deal. Around here, safety training is just part of the job and our team always shows up ready to put in the work. 💪♻️
