🔧🚗 3.6L Pentastar Oil Leak Repair

A customer recently came in with oil leaking down the transmission and leaving spots in their driveway. This is a common issue on the 3.6L Pentastar engine found in many Chrysler and Jeep vehicles.

After diagnosing the leak, we found the source was the factory oil filter housing, which is known to fail over time. Oil from this housing can run down the back of the engine and drip onto the transmission, making it look like a rear main seal leak.

✅ Diagnosed source of leak
✅ Removed the failed housing
✅ Installed an upgraded aluminum oil filter housing
✅ Cleaned the engine and verified the repair

The upgraded aluminum housing is much more durable than the original plastic design and helps prevent this issue from happening again.

If you’re seeing oil in your driveway or oil around the transmission area, it’s a good idea to have it inspected before the leak gets worse.

We’re excited to introduce Ben, an awesome Automotive Technician here at McQueen Tire & Auto! Ben joined us in July and has quickly become a huge asset to our team. He’s knowledgeable, dependable, professional, and consistently delivers quality repairs. His friendly personality and positive attitude make him a joy to work with, and his hard work speaks for itself.

We’re thankful to have Ben on our team and know our customers are too! 🙌

Outside of the shop, Ben enjoys watching football, hanging out with friends, and spending time with his girlfriend and mini Australian Shepard!
