Karter Beattie Ninth in Wednesday Millbridge Winged Micro Main, Stallard Sixth on Saturday
SALISBURY, N.C. -- "Katfish" Karter Beattie had plenty of speed last Wednesday in Winged Micro competition at Millbridge Speedway, and charged his way to a ninth-place finish on an evening that was delayed by a brief but heavy hissy-fit from Mother Nature. He started eighth in the feature, only to fall victim to a chain reaction incident early that sent him to the work area for hasty repairs. With a bent chassis, he started 17th and charged his way to a ninth-place finish.
Karter's post-race interview is below.
Kylea "Speedy" Beattie, who has had several top-five finishes this year as she continues to progress as a racer, had to settle for a 14th-place run in Jr. Wing as mechanical issues kept her from showing what she's made of on the soggy night in Salisbury.
Emily Dietrich drove a steady race to finish sixth in Restricted Micro competition.
SATURDAY, MAY 30th
Saturday saw a much busier KBR/SKE Chassis pit area, with several customers in action throughout the evening. "Handsome" Harry Stallard had one of his finest drives of the season, starting ninth and finishing sixth in the Micro division. Stallard, who calls Jenkins, Kentucky, home, is relocating to Charlotte to attend UNC-Charlotte as an engineering student in the near future and is starting to gain confidence in the faster Micro class after winning a championship in the Restricted Micro division last summer.
Emily Dietrich led all of our drivers on Saturday with a nice run to third in the SKE Intermediate division. She also finished fourth in Restricted Micro.
The two Zipadelli brothers, Leo and Rocco, were competing once again. Leo started fourth in the Jr. Wing feature event but had to settle for a twelfth-place finish at the stripe. He also ran Beginner Box Stock, finishing 15th in that event. Rocco raced to tenth in Jr. Wing's main.
Aspen Kindall crossed the line in twelfth in the Cadet feature, and Kruz Horseman also finished in twelfth position in Beginner Box Stock.
Flyin' Rylan Hall, who got upside down in his last Box Stock feature at Millbridge, kept the shiny side up this time, running competitively but having to settle for 15th at the line.
