INDIANA MICRO WEEK: JACE PASTORE SCORES HOOSIER CUP CHAMPIONSHIP FOR KYLE BEATTIE RACING
CONCORD, N.C. -- Six nights. Four tracks. Two states. A lot of racing. A lot of learning. A lot of late nights with the same group of racers, families, and teams doing what they love.
That was Indiana Micro Week (Hoosier Cup) for our Kyle Beattie Racing family and SKE Chassis.
For 10-year-old Jace Pastore of Maine, it ended with a championship.
For Kylea Beattie and Emily Dietrich, it was a week full of seat time, tough tracks, strong moments and valuable experience.
For everyone involved, it was another reminder that racing is about more than what shows up on the results sheet. It is about the people you travel with, race with, learn from, and lean on through a long week on the road.
Jace came into the week having been out of the micro for a couple of months, so there were some unknowns when the team rolled into US 24 Speedway in Logansport, Indiana, for Monday night’s opener.
It did not take long for the week to get interesting.
Jace had trouble in his heat race after hitting an infield tire and bending the axle. That dropped him from second to eighth and forced him to start the Restricted Non-Wing Micro feature from 17th.
From there, he put together one of the week's best drives.
Jace charged from 17th to third, gained 14 positions, and earned hard charger honors for the night. Emily Dietrich finished ninth in the same feature, while Kylea Beattie finished eighth in Restricted Non Wing and also added an eighth-place finish in Jr. Sprints.
Night two took the group to Tony Stewart Speedway in Columbus, Ohio. Jace later said it was one of the roughest tracks he had ever raced on, but by the end of the night, it had become one of his favorites.
He went from sixth to fourth in his heat race, then drove from sixth to second in the Restricted Non-Wing feature. Kylea finished eighth in the Jr. Sprints.
The tour moved to Rush County Fairgrounds in Rushville, Indiana, for night three, and Jace kept stacking strong finishes. He went from ninth to fourth in his heat race, then drove from fifth to third in the feature.
Emily finished seventh in Restricted Non Wing, Kylea finished 12th in Restricted Non Wing, and Kylea added one of her best runs of the week with a third-place finish in Jr. Sprints.
The fourth night kept everyone at Rush County, and the KBR group continued to make progress.
Jace finished third again in the Restricted Non-Wing feature after going from third to second in his heat race. Emily had a strong night with a fifth-place finish, while Kylea finished 12th in Restricted Non Wing and fifth in Jr. Sprints.
By that point in the week, Jace had been on the podium every night. That meant something, especially during a six-night stretch when every track was different and each night posed a new challenge.
Friday night at Miami County Raceway in Peru, Indiana, was another tough one. Jace was not quite sure how to get the handle he wanted on the track, but he still made gains. He went from fourth to third in his heat race, then drove from eighth to fourth in the feature.
Kylea finished 13th in Restricted Non Wing, then came back with her best finish of the week in Jr. Sprints, driving to second in one of her finest runs of the year.
The week wrapped up Saturday night back at US 24 Speedway.
Jace finished sixth in the Restricted Non-Wing feature, and that was enough to seal the Hoosier Cup championship. He won the title by five points over his good buddy Ryker Toops.
Kylea finished 17th in Restricted Non Wing and 10th in Jr. Sprints to close out a long week of racing across the Midwest.
For Jace, the championship was the headline. He overcame early trouble, adapted to several different tracks, kept himself in the hunt every night, and came home with the overall Hoosier Cup title.
For Kylea and Emily, the week was full of important laps, better finishes, tough lessons, and strong runs to build from.
Just as important, the week was spent with an extended racing family. Jace talked throughout the week about how much fun he had racing with Maverick, Ryker Toops, Dalton Clary, Walker Clark, and his teammates Emily and Kylea.
That is what these weeks are supposed to be.
Yes, everyone wants the trophies. Everyone wants the big finish. Everyone wants to be the one holding the championship at the end.
But weeks like this also build racers. They build confidence, patience, friendships, toughness, and experience. They teach young drivers how to handle different tracks, different conditions, long nights, pressure, and travel.
KBR came home from Hoosier Cup Week with a champion, strong runs from its young racers, and a lot of momentum.
Now the focus shifts back home to Millbridge Speedway after a week away.
With a busy week ahead at one of the toughest weekly tracks in the country, KBR will look to carry that same energy, growth and confidence back into competition at Millbridge tomorrow and Saturday.
