🔧 Advanced Diagnostics Beats Part Swaps
This is a great example of what happens when two advanced golf cart diagnostics shops work together.
One of our customers at Neighborhood Golf Carts brought in their Evolution Golf Cart with an intermittent No Run condition. This issue could have easily led us or any shop straight down the expensive “parts cannon” path of swapping solenoids, controllers, or harnesses.
Instead of guessing, we reached out to our friends at PA Golf Cart World for technical consultation and diagnostic support.
Working together, we reviewed the controller logic, analyzed system operation, and developed a targeted diagnostic strategy using a PicoScope. By understanding exactly what the controller expected to see during startup, we identified an abnormal voltage condition affecting the Key Switch circuit and Controller internal power rail. The oscilloscope didn’t just show voltage, it told the full story.
Once we analyzed the waveform, a focused visual inspection quickly revealed the root cause:
✅ Loose Key Switch connection.
A simple repair restored the cart to reliable operation.
No solenoid.
No wiring harness.
No motor controller.
No expensive parts required.
Just disciplined diagnostics, the right test equipment, and the knowledge to interpret the results.
This repair is another reminder that intermittent electrical faults are solved by understanding system logic not by guessing or replacing parts until something works.
A huge thank you to the team at PA Golf Cart World for the collaboration and expert guidance on this one. It’s always rewarding when two experienced dealerships combine their expertise to solve a tough problem and save a customer unnecessary expense.
That’s what professional diagnostics should look like.
