Racing has a way of testing you.

Both cars looked strong in practice, but qualifying setbacks made the races an uphill battle. Max Stallone suffered an electrical failure that ended Race 1 early, then lost valuable track position after an incident in Race 2. Logan Stretch fought hard all weekend and finished P13 and P12 after solid starts in both races.

The pace is there. Time to turn it into results.

Watkins Glen brought a lot of positives for the team. We showed strong pace all weekend, led laps, and spent time racing up front.

Logan Stretch brought home a P5 in Race 1 after a qualifying strategy didn’t play out as planned and the shortened race limited chances to move forward. In Race 2, Logan charged from P6 to the lead and battled inside the top 3 before a clutch failure on the final lap forced a retirement.

Gavin Vaughan added a pair of P8 finishes and showed great consistency all weekend long. He was making strong progress in Race 1 before an incident shortened the race, and in Race 2 he fought back through the field after a small setback to secure another top 10.

Overall, a strong step forward for the team with plenty of speed and momentum to build on heading into the next round. 🏁

Road America was a solid weekend overall for the Spec MX-5 team. The cars showed really good speed through testing and qualifying, but an unfortunate situation led to 2 of our drivers receiving qualifying penalties that put us further back than we should’ve been on the starting grid.

Even with that setback, all 3 drivers fought hard and made the most of the weekend. Lincoln Larson finished P6 and P8, Matt Stretch brought home P8 and P9, and Jake Faulkner impressed in his class debut with P11 and P12 while running right with his experienced teammates.

A lot of positives to build on as we head to Watkins Glen with a new driver lineup and our sights set on that first win of the season. 🏁
