LOOK @ THE SIZE OF THOSE PIECES

DON'T let this happen to you!

You are looking at the inside of the top tank of a brand new radiator with less than 100 miles. The engine was flushed prior to the radiator installation. As you can see, these pieces will never make it to the drain. The engine had to be disassembled to remove the debris.

I used an endoscope with a camera to get these shots.

20 Years of water and no interaction with the vehicle except for caustic salt air and this is what you get.

Yes, I was able to clear the pieces with mucho time and persistence.

NEVER let an engine sit for 20 years with no coolant. On the expressway the temperature would increase by 1 degree every mile. I had already flushed the system and installed a new radiator, water pump and hoses. I knocked out a few freeze plugs and the stuff in the container came from inside the engine block. I used an endoscope to see it and take pics. After cleaning the block, I checked the new radiator and UN-BELEIVEABLE, the cores were clogged already. What a mess. I'm installing a hose filter & still flushing before installing the last few freeze plugs. Did I say. WHAT A MESS?
