Gearbox fun
Later model gearboxes (6 spds from 1150’s / 1200’s and some others ) require a different method of shimming than the older airhead stuff. Shafts are assembled to match a ‘standard’ and shims picked accordingly to meet the specs. Spec in this case is -0.05mm - 0.00mm compared to the standard or slightly shorter assembled length than the standard.

Front wheel bearings from a R1200GS. Are you checking yours when tires are put on ? These were howling badly going down the road and there was a lot of play in them. Sometimes it’s hard to tell if it’s just the tires or the bearings! No grease left in these when I popped the seals off. Thankfully bearings and axle seals in stock and was an easy fix for this customer who was in for routine maintenance.

Trying to sort through the latest BMW special tool score. A lot of stuff I already had, but a lot of new stuff! Some of this stuff I’ve never even seen before. Now where to put it all!
