One Routine Vehicle Maintenance item that is important is Wheel Alignment. When the Toe, Camber, Caster are adjusted correctly the vehicle performs well. But even a small deviation from the correct settings can increase tire wear, reduce fuel economy and render the vehicle difficult or even unsafe to drive.
How often should you check alignment?
🔧 If you notice changes in your vehicles handling or
steering. First check to ensure that the tires are properly inflated, and if that doesn't correct the problem, an alignment may be in order.
🔧 If you just had new tires installed, getting an alignment is a good idea. If you changed different type of tire or model, changed wheels, an Alignment is definitely important.
🔧 If the vehicle has been in an accident even one that doesn't seem very serious. If you hit something hard with one of the wheels, you may need to have your alignment checked. Even a minor bump like running over a curve could throw your alignment off.
🔧 Even if none of the above has occurred you should at least have your alignment checked after 2 years or 30,000 miles. If you drive on rough roads then I would have your alignment checked at 15,000 miles.
