1930s. Mailboat for Abbeville and Pecan Island Louisiana. Written on photo: Mailboat which goes to Abbeville on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and returns to Pecan Island on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Name of boat: Crescent.

In January we did an interview with Tony Augustine, a producer that produces short films on small businesses in Louisiana.

During our interview he asked many questions about the bayou, sh*****ng etc.

I told him about our annual boat blessing that takes place every April. I invited him to come shoot some footage. He attended mass at Holy Family Church. This is where the blessing of fleet begins then travels down the bayou.

He did a really good job with this one!

Commercial sh*****ng in the bayou just south of the RV park. Always support your local fisherman! Whether it be crabbers, shrimpers or oyster fishermen. These hard working people put food on tables of restaurants and homes all over this country.

Had a couple from New Zealand stay at the rv park for a couple nights. They are on holiday and visiting various spots of the US. It is very exciting to be a part or their journey. They visited cocodrie and some places in and around Houma. They also left us with some cash from their country.

Thank you Jimbo Edwards for cooking some food for everyone tonight. It was some good eats.

My how things have changed over the years. Thank god for the wisdom and guidance. We appreciate and love all wonderful people who gave us a chance and became part of the Swampman family.
