**YOUR ESTIMATE SAYS ONE THING. YOUR PAINT BILL SAYS ANOTHER.**

Who's keeping track of the difference?

Every collision repair shop purchases paint, clearcoat, reducers, hardeners, masking materials, and countless other supplies to get vehicles back on the road.

But here's the million-dollar question:

**Are you getting paid for what you're actually using?**

And if you're not, how would you even know?

There are tools available to track paint and material usage, document costs, and help support reimbursement requests.

But are they worth the investment? Are shops seeing a return? And what happens when the insurer doesn't agree?

**These are the conversations we need to have.**

Join us for the next **GCIA AFTER HOURS**:

**YOU PAID FOR IT… BUT DID YOU GET PAID FOR IT?**

The real cost of paint and materials — and how available tools can help shops track costs, document usage, and pursue reimbursement.

🚗 GCIA CUSTOMER CORNER: Your Car May Know You’ve Been in an Accident Before You Make the First Call

Today’s vehicles are more connected than ever—and that connection doesn’t necessarily stop when a crash occurs.

Many newer vehicles have built-in connected services that can detect a collision and generate information about the event. Depending on the vehicle, services you use, and your settings, certain information may be transmitted to manufacturers or connected-service providers and, in some circumstances, may become part of the claims process.

That could include information such as the time and location of an event, crash detection information, or other vehicle data.

So what should vehicle owners do?

📱 Know which connected services are active on your vehicle.
⚙️ Review your vehicle and app privacy settings.
📄 Understand the permissions and terms associated with connected services.
❓ Ask questions about how your vehicle's information may be collected, shared and used.

Not every vehicle, manufacturer, service provider or insurance company handles data the same way. That's exactly why consumers should know what they've agreed to.

Be informed. It’s your vehicle—and your information.

GCIA is committed to helping Georgia consumers understand not only collision repair, but the changing technology surrounding today's vehicles.
