Our team has been hard at work over the past several weeks at the new Ertle dealership in Bartonsville, installing curtain wall systems as part of this exciting new commercial project.

Today, our lead shower door technician, Bubba Beers, was out measuring for another custom shower enclosure.

Many homeowners are surprised to learn that we can typically measure your shower as soon as the tile work is complete—even if the rest of the bathroom isn’t finished yet. Getting measured early helps keep your project moving and avoids delays later on.

Before your measurement appointment, here are a few things to consider:

✔️ Swing door or sliding door—which works best for your space and daily routine?

✔️ Handle style, towel bars, and hardware finishes.

✔️ Overall bathroom layout and door clearance.

✔️ Zero-entry showers and curbless designs. While beautiful and accessible, they may limit where bath mats can be placed and require additional planning for water management.

✔️ Tile selection. Textured, grooved, and heavily patterned tiles are very popular right now, but they can create challenges for frameless hinged shower doors. Because the glass and hinges need a flat mounting surface, uneven tile profiles can make it difficult for doors to seal and sit flush. If you’re still in the planning stage, it’s worth discussing your tile selection before installation.
