Layton's Boatworks Layton's Boatworks offers the Layton Bay 22' line, Backwater 16' line & Upcoming Layton 270 Line. We are also the manufacture for Tideline Boats.

Layton’s Boatworks is owned and operated by Doug Layton. Doug brings with him 25 years of boat building experience. Doug, a former Albemarle Boats employee, is factory certified in Volvo, Yanmar & Mercury and is our “in house” head electronics technician. Our company is based on the belief that our customers’ needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs.

Back to our roots with this Repower!
Here we have a 2001 Albemarle 24’, belongs to a longtime customer of ours.
It came from the factory with a 5.7 gas engine and Volvo stern draft package. All that stuff was old and tired and it was time to be replaced, so we are converting this boat over to outboard power. She’s getting an Armstrong bracket and 300 horse Suzuki. It’s gonna be such a nice package, quiet and smooth and able to get in much shallow of water than ever before. We predict it to top out close to 50 mph and have a very economical cruise in the mid 30s.
