Come along with us on our most recent adventure at The Rift, Iceland. David and Stephen took on the 330km Abyss course, which looped the Icelandic Highlands and gave them vistas that they'll never forget. This 30 minute film shows the race from both riders' POVs as their timelines stretched apart and overlapped from start to finish.

We found one last 52cm Traildonkey 4.0 in our inventory, and we couldn’t resist having some fun with it and making it into our next Ready To Roll / Dealtime™️. We set Andy at HQ loose on the graphics, and he used a prismatic chrome decal material to create a super fun and totally original “metal” tribute livery for the bike replete with custom headbadge, Spork, typography, and plenty of easter eggs in the mix.

Your as per the bike spec, your first question might be “what is the difference between the Traildonkey 4.0 and the 4.2?”

Answer: 4.2 supports UDH and 4.0 doesn’t. That’s it. You don’t need UDH to have a great drivetrain or a great bike, and we set out to prove that with this build. We chose the latest Sram Rival AXS E1 lever with their phenomenal ergonomics and braking, and combined that with an AXS mullet rear mech to create that perfect adventure-ready 10-52t drivetrain.

Up front is the venerable Praxis Zayante carbon crankset. Wheels are Tour Divide proven Rodeo 2.0 carbon hoops with 3.0 hubs. Tires are Vittoria Terreno.

A 52cm Traindonkey 4 will typically fit a rider 5’5” to 5’8”.

In stock and ready to ship, and as with all Ready To Roll builds, this one is plenty discounted over retail price.

The first Desert Sand FL6.0 Steel is off to its new home, with a certain Matt G.

Desert Sand is one of two standard colors we offer the frame in, and owners can select any decal color they like to personalize the final look of the bike. Matt went with Mojito Green, giving the frame a very unique combo - fitting for the first one out the door.

The 6.0 frame wears its features well, from the LockJaw 2 sliders, to The Keg bottom bracket, custom ovalized top tube, custom hourglass machined head tube, dropped stays, and geometry that’s optimized for the biggest adventures so far.

Happy New Bike Day, Matt! We can’t wait to see how you build it up.

Update: Sold! It’s DEALTIME™️ time again! For this classic Flaanimal 5.0 steel Ready To Roll build, we stuck to a proven recipie for function and performance. The base is the tried and true Flaanimal 5.0 steel frameset, in size 58cm. Flaanimal is the most well traveled Rodeo frameset in existence, having been ridden everywhere from Tour Divide to Unbound to Africa, Europe, and beyond.

For drivetrain we opted for 11 speed GRX, which will give you faithful shift after faithful shift, while being less fussy than 12 or 13 speed systems. No batteries found on this build! We kept things analog.

The wheelset is the deep and fast NexGen V7 carbon, which feature incredible durability, light weight, and star ratchet hub internals that you can trust.

Ritchey is our go-to for cockpits, and this build is no exception. The ergonomics are great and the reliability is ultra-top-notch.

We specced the new Repente Nova saddle for this build. Beyond being comfortable, this saddle is also 100% recyclable, which we think is super cool.

Tires are 45mm Vittoria T60s, which have confidence inspiring grip and a “just right” amount of overall volume for mixed terrain riding.

For graphics, Andy designed a classy and unique “rose gold” layout, which you won’t find on any other Rodeo bike anywhere.

Ready To Roll bikes are specced and built by us with parts and components that we chose, and they’re always offered at an advantageous price over our build to order bikes.

A 58cm Rodeo will best fit a rider between 6′ and 6’2″.

Ships now, worldwide. https://rodeo-labs.com/product/flaanimal-5-0-steel-58cm-rose-gold-grx/

We created this one-off TD4.2 as a collaboration with our friends at Croatan Buck Fifty , a race that has brought so many in the Rodeo community together over the years. The super unique and SUPER TIME INTENSIVE tan camoflauge and high-viz orange are a tribute to the Croatan aesthetic, and we have to say, the design looks so good in the flesh! We’d love to do more camo work, but we need to catch our breath first because this one almost broke us!

The bike was raffled as a fundraiser, and David, the winner asked us to customize the configuration so that this Donkey could be his road steed. We were happy to oblige! 2x road builds aren’t super common, but for those who love close shift ratios and a gear for every occasion, 2x is still the go-to option.

Happy New Bike Day, David! Enjoy your Road Donkey! And the rest of you, check out Croatan Buck Fifty for your 2027 ride / race calendar!

A special Rodeo shout out goes to Rob Alexander who just completed the Trans Am ( ride across the USA) on his Flaanimal 6 Ti. From sea to shining sea as they say. Rob’s build was one that we featured with custom Mandolorian etchings on it. We think he’s just proved that he’s tough enough to wear one of those helmets!

🍻 a toast to you, Rob!

Brad, who leads custom finishing at Rodeo, has been refining his titanium anodizing technique non-stop since joining Rodeo. For those in the know, titanium anodizing is a fickle beast. A number of different factors which must be balanced and juggled nearly simultaneously in order to acheive good coverage, consistent color, intense color, and bright finishing. One of the more difficult skills to master is that of covering large areas of the frame evenly, which is why you more often see titanium anodizing applied on smaller graphics, not entire tubes.

For this Flaanimal 5.0 Titanium Ready To Roll build, Brad wanted to take a huge swing and attempt to cover nearly the entire frame with a beautiful bronze-gold finish, and while he was at it, he decided to make the entire design and build into an Root Beer inspired bike. The end result is a vividly and beautifully anodized 5.0 titanium frame unlike any other we’ve ever done. The overall aesthetic is classic, and was inspired by vintage road bikes with their color blocked and painted frame panels. Paired with the bronze titanium tube finishing are cream Cerakote accents and of course a custom Root Beer Spork, which we whipped up just for the occasion.

The build spec is a thoughful mix of Sram Rival AXS, Ritchey handlebars and custom painted stem, Selle Repente saddle, Praxis carbon cranks, and Rene Herse tires. The custom finishing disn’t stop with the frame, the Rodeo 2.0 carbon hoops and Ritchey stem are also custom finished and matched to the aesthetic of the build.

Every Ready To Roll Rodeo Labs bike is offered at advantageous pricing because we design, paint, build, and spec the bike based on what inspires us here.

A 61cm Flaanimal 5.0 titanium will best fit a rider 6’2″ to 6’4″. with some wiggle room on the margins.
