Boxell gets first Non Wing Sprint Car win, Kinney II sends crew chief out as a winner, and Conover gets first Thunderstock win of 2026.

Elida OH

Jakeb Boxell likes getting first time wins at Limaland. He got his first D2 midget win in 2024 and on Friday night during the 91st Anniversary Race presented by the University of Northwestern Ohio, he grabbed his first career Non Wing Sprint Car victory behind the wheel of the No. 54 in the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints feature.

No 7C Jordan Conover set his fifth quick time of the year, and bagged his first Lock Sixteen Thunderstock feature win of 2026.

UNOH Racer Eric Kinney II picked up an emotional first Limaland Motorsports Park Otterly Baths DIRTcar UMP Modified win in the UNOH No. 01 Longhorn Chassis. Kinney’s crew chief, Wilson Owens got to celebrate in victory lane for his final event on the team, as the 2026 graduate leaves on Saturday to join Trackhouse Racing in the NASCAR Cup series tomorrow to begin his career.

The Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks kicked off A Main action with No. 8 Zach Rush and Conover leading the field to the green flag. Rush would lead Conover into turns 1 and 2, but Conover would take his REC Performance No. 7 to the high side in turns 3 and 4 to take the lead before the end of lap one. A pileup on the backstretch on lap 3 took out defending Limaland Thunderstock track champion No. 60 Todd Sherman, No. 01 Blake Steele, and No. 1 CJ Permann. No 21 Colton Cook spun to avoid the crash and was able to rejoin the field. On the restart, Conover would resume his lead and sail to victory over Rush. No. 22T Tony Anderson would charge to third place at the checkered flag, with No. 7 Dan Wooten fourth, and Cook battling back to round out the top five.

Next up were the Great Lake Traditional Sprints for their 25 lap feature event. Jack Hoyer would start on the pole in Paul Hazen’s famed No. 57 car with No. 1H Korbyn Hayslett to his outside. Hoyer would grab the early lead with No. 2DI Dustin Ingle muscling his way to the point on lap 2. No. 54 “JB” Jakeb Boxell would find the bottom of the track to his liking and make his way to second on lap four and then grab the lead on lap 5. No. 21B Ryan Barr and Hoyer would battle throughout the feature for the third position with Barr on the bottom of the track and Hoyer up on the cushion. Barr would prevail and finish in third. Boxell would go on to win over Ingle, Barr, Hoyer and Hayslett completing the top 5.

Closing out the night were the Otterly Baths DIRTcar UMP Modifieds in their 20 lap feature event. No. 1 Eric Kinney II and No. 4 Jason Kinney would lead the field to the green flag with Eric Kinney grabbing the early lead. Jason Kinney would roll the highside of the track to take the lead on lap 2, but The UNOH Motorsports team’s Longhorn Chassis came to life on the bottom of the track on lap five and it was all Eric Kinney from there. The field was slowed on lap eleven for a caution for debris on the front straightaway. On the restart, Eric Kinney was able to run away, but Jason Kinney closed in during the final 4 laps coming up three-tenths of a second short. No. 34X Shane O’Connor would finish third, No. 65 Todd Sherman fourth, and No. 4L Mike Learman completed the top five.

Next Friday June 26 features the return of Late Model Mania, with the return of the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series competing for a top prize of $5000 to win. Also in action will be the Otterly Baths DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, and the Lock Sixteen Thunderstocks. Pit gates open at 4:30PM, grandstand gates open at 5:00PM, hot laps at 6:30PM, and racing at 7:30PM.
