MANIFEST A MAGNIFICENT MYSTIQUE IN THIS MUSTANG MACH 1!

This 1973 Mach 1 is a gorgeous and fun way to mark the end of the muscle car era. By '73, oil embargos, higher insurance rates, and reduced performance were rearing their ugly heads, and fans of American muscle cars had very few choices. But this example did its best to defy all of that. With its fastback styling, potent 351 c.i. V8, matte black stripes and call-outs, and factory E6 Medium Bright Yellow paint, this Mustang (along with some still spiffy Trans Ams from Pontiac) represents the best of the last of the muscle car era.

The built 351 in this pony runs like a real thoroughbred, with a 4 bbl intake and carb, ceramic coated headers, a mild cam, and a thundering true dual exhaust system. The factory optioned Mach 1 upholstery looks great in ginger, with the (also) optional fold-down rear seat offering additional carrying capacity, and, well, it just looks cool to boot.

If you've been looking for a classic Mach in excellent condition that runs as good as it looks, you'll be hard-pressed finding one nicer than this for the money.

IT'S A STAMPEDE OF CLASSIC MUSTANGS!

We just added this factory medium bright yellow 1973 Mach1, and we are about to give it a major spa treatment. First thing to will be the wheels, and in their place a set of chrome Magnum 500s and BFG Radial TA tires. Then an exhaustive cleaning, followed by a meticulous paint correction and some other fixes and tidying. This 351 Mach runs very well, and has nice oaint and a clean interior. WE JUST ADDED ONE OF THE EARLIEST MUSTANGS EVER PRODUCED TO OUR INVENTORY!

Hey guys, we have another uber classic red ragtop Mustang available that is sure to please the Ford history buffs and those who appreciate all-original, untouched classics! This is our 1964-and-a-half (1964.5) Mustang convertible, finished in code J Rangoon Red. While technically recorded as a 1965 model, all Mustangs produced in the spring of 1964 are known as '64.5' Mustangs, due to them being produced during the typical production run of other 1964 Ford cars and trucks.

This car is noteworthy because it's likely the earliest-produced Mustang you'll ever see outside of a museum, being it is the 5,522nd Mustang produced in Ford's illustrous history. To put that into perspective, there have been over TEN MILLION Mustangs manufactured since early 1964, putting this particular car among the first FIVE TEN THOUSANDTHS (0.0005%) of all Mustangs produced. Another way of putting that is its within the first five one-hundredths of one percent of all Mustangs. Not too shabby!

One of the other notables about this Mustang that makes it a very rare standout is the fact it is a "D" code 289 4-barrel car, which is the equivalent of the later (higher hp) "A" code 289 4-barrel produced during the '65 and later production runs. Also, being that convertibles were far less common than coupes and fastbacks, and you've got a REALLY rare example here.

This car has received thousands of dollars in recent mechanical work from Mustangs and More to put it in top driving condition. Among recent fixes are a new radiator, complete new exhaust system, a reworked brake system, a tune-up, and more.

A TALE OF TWO FASTABACKS: Check out and then compare this '67 Pontiac Catalina fastback we found for sale with the one we currently have available. Go ahead, click on it, read it, and think about how THAT one needs EVERYTHING, inside and out, and how hard it would be to source original parts, good reproductions (if they even MAKE reproductions), and the literal MOUNTAIN of money and TIME it would take to get it to the point of our blue on blue example we have for sale.

For sure, ours costs more, but for that additional amount, you could barely get the metal work and paint done on this car, much less a complete restoration of the interior, engine bay, suspension, wheels, tires, chrome, and on and on and on. Not to mention the fact ours is loaded with tons of options this other example doesn't even have to begin with. Ours may not be perfect, but it certainly presents a massive value gain over this other example and what it would take to make it as nice.

This is all to say: You are MILES and TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars ahead to buy a nicer example that doesn't require months or years of busted knuckles, dozens of cancelled checks, and who knows how much actual progress. NO ONE EVER wishes they would've bought a pile of junk, basketcase, or worse vehicle after spending more up front to get into a MUCH better quality classic.

BTW, we are currently adding a new steering box, transmission gasket and fluid change, and recharging the AC on ours in order to make it EVEN BETTER than it already is. Mechanically, it'll be the best Pontiac you'll find at any car show, and the most loaded with options to boot!

WHAT'S NEW WITH OL' BLUE:

Because our '67 Catalina is such a good, honest car, with everything in working order right down to the factory cruise control, we decided to go ahead and eliminate a few of the typical Pontiac leaks underneath. We're currently having the leaky steering box replaced, as well as the TH400's transmission pan gasket (along with new fluid and filter, of course!).

This super highly optioned fastback is going to be ready for any kind of road trip when we finally hand over the keys to the new owner, with just about everything mechanically perfect on this 60 yr old blue beast!
