❤️🐾 Not All Heroes Wear Capes… Sometimes They Carry Jacks and Jack Stands! 🐾❤️
Today was a day I won’t forget anytime soon. ❤️
I was outside checking my mail when I noticed a man and woman stopped in the road, trying to get traffic to slow down. As I looked closer, I saw four tiny little paws sticking out from underneath a vehicle. 🥺
Of course, I walked over to see what was going on and how I could help.
The gentleman explained that a little kitten had been badly injured, and they were desperately trying to rescue her. Before we could get to her, the poor baby crawled farther underneath the vehicle and up into the engine area, trying to hide.
I started flagging traffic while we figured out what to do. I suggested slowly moving the vehicle safely off the road so we could get a better look.
But this little girl wasn’t making it easy! She had tucked herself so far up into the vehicle’s frame that we couldn’t reach her.
So what did we do? We got a jack, lifted the vehicle, secured it on jack stands, and worked together until we finally got that precious little baby out! ❤️🐱
We decided to name her Relay, after AutoRelay, because today we weren’t just fixing cars… we were coming to the rescue! 🛠️🐾
Little Relay was taken to the emergency veterinarian in Bellingham, where we learned she had a broken leg. 💔 Thankfully, the vet said she’s going to be okay!
I sure hope I get to see that sweet little face again someday. ❤️
What touched my heart the most was watching complete strangers come together for one tiny little life. Nobody cared about getting dirty, taking time out of their day, or doing something that wasn’t their responsibility. We just knew this little girl needed help.
This is what AutoRelay is about.
Yes, we work on cars. Yes, we’re building a business. But at the end of the day, it’s about so much more than turning wrenches and making money.
It’s about showing up for our community, lending a hand when someone needs it, and remembering that even the smallest lives matter. ❤️
To the wonderful people who stopped and helped save this little girl, thank you. We made one heck of a rescue team today!
