Unfortunately, this customer found the rock just outside of Party Cove with his brand new PWC. With the help of some fishermen, he got it to the beach before it went to the bottom. We were able to pump most of the water out and get it up on its side to affix a patch to be able to tow it to the ramp. We got the call this morning and were on scene shortly afterwards. Fortunately he has it insured and it will cover the salvage and cost of repairs. If you don’t have insurance on your vessel to cover things like this, you should at least have a membership to cover things like towing, battery jumps, soft groundings and fuel drops. Yes, the Fort Worth Boat Club will be putting on their annual 4th Of July fireworks show on Saturday. The show will begin probably around 2130 hrs (9:30 pm). There is a 250 yard safety zone around the fireworks barge, marked by DO NOT ENTER buoys with amber strobe lights on top of them. Tow BoatUS Eagle Mountain Lake, along with the Coast Guard Auxlilary will be patrolling the perimeter of the safety zone, the show will not start if anyone has anchored inside the safety zone. Also, please do not cut through the zone after the show when leaving. There are always some live rounds that misfire, and is slows down the recovery of the barge. We will not be towing from about 2000 till after we get the barge back in the harbor but will be back on duty directly after to help everyone we can. Other than this short time out of service to tow and stet up and then remove the fireworks show barge, we respond 24/7/365. This boat is on it's way to a new home on Lake Grapevine. TowBoatus Lake Lewisville, Grapevine, and Ray Roberts Will meet him on the other end to take him to his new slip while he finishes his engine repairs.
