One of the best parts of Miatas at the Gap? Catching up with some of our favorite vendors. 🤝

We spend so much time talking about the amazing people in the Miata community, but these folks deserve a little spotlight too. They're the ones dreaming up new parts, solving problems, supporting events, and helping keep our tiny cars on the road and on the track.

And yes...we absolutely have our own “fan-girl” moments. 😄 It's fun getting to put faces with names, talk shop, swap ideas, and finally say, "We've been looking forward to seeing you!"

Thanks for everything you do for this community. We're proud to work alongside you and even prouder to call many of you friends. Until the GAP ...keep building cool things. ❤️🏁. We will see around the dragon 🐉

And now... the real stars of the show: the Miata’s ! 🚗✨

This is what Miatas at the Gap is all about.

From the iconic NA with its pop-up headlights... to the timeless NB... the giant NC... the sleek ND... and even a few wild Exocet cousins, every generation finds its way to these mountains.

Stock or supercharged.
Garage-built or factory fresh.
Daily drivers, track toys, and everything in between.

No two Miatas are exactly alike, and that's what makes this community so special. Every car tells a story. Every owner adds a little personality. Every generation has a place here.

Whether it's your first trip or your twentieth, these mountains have a way of bringing us all together.

See y'all on the Dragon. 🐉💙

Everyone comes for the 318 curves in 11 miles... and trust me, they're every bit as incredible as you've heard.

But one of the best-kept secrets of Miatas at the Gap?

The roads that lead you there.

Long sweepers. Mountain overlooks. Rivers running beside you. Dense forests that suddenly open up to views that make you pull over just to take it all in.

Out here, the drive is the destination.
Whether you're carving up the Dragon, cruising the Foothills Parkway, exploring the Cherohala Skyway, or simply wandering the back roads around Fontana, every mile reminds you why these little cars were built.

Take the scenic route.
Wave at every Miata.
And don't be in such a hurry that you miss the mountains.

That's the real magic of the Gap. 🥰❤️💙🐉

One of my favorite parts of coming to Miatas at the Gap isn't just the Dragon... it's exploring the history tucked away in these mountains.

Just down the road from Fontana Village is Tapoco, a tiny community built in the 1930s by the Tennessee Valley Authority. The name actually comes from the Tallassee Power Company (TA-PO-CO), which helped harness the rivers here to bring electricity to the region.

Today, the Tapoco Lodge sits along the Cheoah River, surrounded by incredible mountain views, winding roads, and just enough history to make you slow down for a minute before chasing the next curve.

If you're making the trip to the Gap, don't just drive through... take a little time to soak it all in. These roads have stories to tell, and Tapoco is one of my favorites.

See y'all on the Dragon. 🐉💙

Miatas at the Gap Spotlight: Fontana Village Resort 🐉🏔️

If you're heading to Miatas at the Gap, chances are you'll find yourself at Fontana Village. It's more than just where many of us stay—it's the heartbeat of the event.

🐉❤️A few fun facts:
• Nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains, Fontana Village has welcomed visitors since the 1940s.

• It's just minutes from the famous Tail of the Dragon 🐉 and the Cherohala Skyway, putting some of the country's best driving roads right outside your door.

• During MATG, the parking lots become an automotive show all their own. Every walk to breakfast somehow turns into an hour-long conversation with fellow Miata enthusiasts.

• It's where old friends reunite, new friendships begin, and you'll probably leave with a camera full of Miatas and a heart full of memories.

Around here, the best stories usually don't happen on the schedule. They happen in the parking lot, on the porch, or while admiring someone's latest build.

If you see the Track Dog Racing crew, be sure to stop by and say hello. We may not be hauling the whole shop to the mountains (I needed room for snacks! 😄), but we'll be there enjoying everything that makes Miatas at the Gap so special.

See y'all at Fontana! 🧡🐉

I guess today's dress code was orange and gray. 🍊🩶

Even the Dodges understood the assignment. 😄

My Orange 30th Anniversary Edition made a couple of ND friends today here at Track Dog Racing, and I couldn't help but smile at the accidental color coordination.

Texas gave us a little bit of everything—storm clouds, rain, and sunshine. And I've gotta say... is it just me, or do Miatas look even more striking with a few raindrops on them?

Throw in a parking lot full of great-looking cars and good company, and I'd call that a pretty good day at the shop.

Thanks for stopping by, friends. We never get tired of seeing another Miata pull into the Track Dog parking lot. Until next time! 🐾🍊

Every August, something special happens in the Smoky Mountains.

Miatas from all over the country find their way to one little corner of Tennessee and North Carolina. Some come to chase the Dragon. Some come for the mountain roads. Some come for the vendors. But most leave with something they never expected...friends who feel like family.

For us at Track Dog Racing, Miatas at the Gap has always been more than an event. It's a reunion. It's catching up with customers we've known for years, meeting new faces, swapping stories in the parking lot long after the sun goes down, and watching hundreds of Miatas fill the mountains with smiles.

The Tail of the Dragon may have 318 curves in 11 miles, but the roads surrounding it are just as magical. The Cherohala Skyway, Foothills Parkway, mountain overlooks, cool mornings, and winding back roads remind you why these little cars were built to be driven.

The countdown is on, and we can't wait to see familiar faces, make new friends, and spend another unforgettable week in the mountains.

We'll see you at the Gap. 🐉❤️

🏁 The countdown to Miatas at the Gap is ON! 🏁

We leave Tuesday, Aug. 4th if anyone would like to join our convoy. We have also confirmed Gary (original OG, former owner of TDR) will be joining us this year for the 30th Anniversary.

Before you point your Miata toward the Dragon, now is the perfect time to give it one last once-over.

✔️ Fresh oil & oil filter
✔️ Clean air filter
✔️ Brake pads & rotors
✔️ Brake, clutch & coolant fluids
✔️ Belts & hoses
✔️ Wiper blades (mountain weather can change fast!)
✔️ Spark plugs & ignition components

The Dragon isn't just another scenic drive—it's 318 curves in 11 miles, and it's a whole lot more fun when you're focused on the road instead of worrying about your car.

Need maintenance items or replacement parts? We've got you covered. Order soon so everything arrives before you hit the road.

Get your Miata ready now so your memories are made on the mountain... not waiting for a tow truck off of it. 😉

We'll see everyone at Miatas at the Gap! 🐉

Well... yesterday’s run took a tiny little detour. 🧡💚
With so many of our customers getting their Miatas ready for Miatas at the Gap, we completely understand that free weekends are precious. Right now, garage time is winning over extra drive time, and honestly, we love seeing everyone putting the finishing touches on their Miata’s.
So with a smaller group than expected, we decided to stay close to the shop and spend the afternoon at Cidercade instead. A few classic arcade games, plenty of laughs, and good company made for a great Plan B. We had an absolute blast! These games are like a step back in time. So fun! Thank you for a great day.
We'll be back on the road together soon enough. Until then, keep wrenching, keep checking those pre-Gap to-do lists, and we'll see everyone on the Dragon! 🐉🏁
