Sizzling Speed & Big Money: Andy & Billie Lutz Memorial Highlights Tri-City Raceway Park’s Summer Sizzler This Friday!
Franklin, Pa. - The annual Summer Sizzler is set to heat up the action this Friday night, July 24th, at the historic half-mile oval of Tri-City Raceway Park in Venango County. The high-stakes night gets an emotional, big-money upgrade as the FAST on Dirt 410 Sprint Car main event serves as the Andy & Billie Lutz Memorial and has been boosted to an $8,600-to-win payday. This purse increase serves as a special tribute to Andy and Billie Lutz and their iconic number 86, with the Lutz family adding extra cash to every single starting spot—including a meaningful $86 bonus for everyone finishing fourth on back.
To make this memorial race even bigger, lap sponsorships are now available for laps 1 through 25. Fans and local businesses looking to support the drivers can sponsor a lap for $20, $86, or any higher preferred amount to get their name or message read over the track PA system.
A massive, star-studded field is expected in the pits. Just over a week ago, a heavy-hitting 39-car field converged in Western PA for a $10,000-to-win FAST event, and the region's top national touring drivers, regional stars, and local standouts are expected back this Friday.
Current FAST series points leader John Jerich rolls in holding the hot hand, trying to hold off a relentless Ricky Peterson and defending late-season surge specialist Tyler Gunn. They will face fierce resistance from a legendary local contingent. Former FAST champion Brandon Spithaler has been nearly untouchable on the half-mile this year as he chases his fourth Tri-City win of the season. Current track points leader Brandon Matus looks to park his consistent #13 machine back in victory lane. Plus, the track’s second all-time leading feature winner—the ageless wonder Bob Felmlee—is hunting for his third checkered flag of the year to bring home the $8,600 prize.
Inaugural Summer Sizzler winner Jeremy Weaver is locked in and ready to shake off recent struggles to defend his crown against a hungry pack of challengers. Former track champion AJ Flick makes the tow from Apollo, while last week's winner Greg Wilson, Logan McCandless, Dusty Larson, Matt Farnham, Nash Gierke, Jeremy Kornbau, and Michael Bauer are all capable of breaking through to victory lane.
Important Driver Notice: All 410 Sprint Car teams are strictly reminded that AMB Transponders are required for timing and scoring.
The fendered classes are bringing plenty of their own high-octane drama to the Summer Sizzler card. The RK Virgile Iron & Steel Pro Stocks will battle for a $1,000 winner's prize. All eyes will be on Bobby Whitling, who pulled off a thrilling last-lap pass last week to secure his third win of the year and extend his legendary track record to 67 division victories.
The Complete Car Care Center RUSH Stock Cars will dice it out for $500 to win. If this race is anything like last week's wild feature, which saw eight lead changes before William Baker edged out Cole Laskey, fans are in for an incredible show.
