This customer contacted me to replace an air conditioner that wasn’t cooling. I asked to inspect it first and found the only issue was a loose motor mounting bolt. It only took a few minutes to reinstall and get the system working.

I spotted this kinked tubing while replacing an air conditioner’s fan motor. More interesting, I heard a noise from the other roof unit and alerted the customer. He declined letting me inspect it and the other fan motor failed later that day.

The Ocala Police Department has conducted a financial crimes investigation involving Village RV on S. Pine Avenue and its owners, father and son, Anthony Piccone, 65, and Drake Piccione, 31.

The investigation began in August of 2024 after a victim reported being defrauded out of money and an RV. As detectives followed up, more than two dozen victims—many of them elderly—came forward reporting similar losses. Victims reported unpaid RV consignments, unreturned deposits, missing titles, bank loans that were never paid off, and RVs sold without proper paperwork.

Detectives found that the owners misused customer funds, spending large amounts on personal expenses such as travel, luxury cars, and entertainment.

Based on the evidence, Detective Demary established probable cause to charge both Anthony and Drake Piccione with organized fraud exceeding $50,000. The charges include enhanced penalties due to the involvement of elderly victims.

The case remains an active investigation. We encourage anyone with relevant information regarding this case to please contact the Ocala Police Department.
