In 1926, Tom’s grandparents opened Sharp Brothers Garage, a small repair shop at 4th Avenue & Virginia Street in Gary that quickly became a trusted name in town. His parents met while working there (she, the owner's daughter...he, mechanic and wrecker driver), married, and opened their own shop, Republic Frame & Axle, in 1965 — carrying forward the same dedication to craftsmanship and customer care. Today, that shop is still family‑run, still rooted in the same city, and still committed to doing things the right way.
