Time to make some changes in the way we are doing some things here at the shop.
We have an EXTREME backlog of work in the shop (very thankful to those customers) all of which are great jobs/builds etc.
However, our parts side of things are taking up 75% of our time putting us behind on in house builds. And let’s be straight, those of you spending a few hundred or even a few thousand absolutely wear us out, while the ones spending 10-200k don’t give us a single issue.
We are going to move to doing our parts in batches, and will no longer be selling things that we don’t make. Backorders from other suppliers are absolutely killing us. Between dealing with them on our in house builds, plus all your builds as well is too much.
We are going to set the pricing on our website to $0.00 (price will be in the add) but when you go to checkout there won’t be a charge until we have the next batch done. At that point we can invoice you and ship out the parts. This will allow us to build the parts when we have time. We have sold over 40 turbo kits since Jan 1. Plus all the other parts we offer.
Right now (on property) in the schedule are the following jobs:
- 90 OBS complete custom frame off build
- 74 corvette complete frame off build
- 87 K5 full teardown, rust repair, repaint
- 67 Camaro complete custom build
- 68 C10 crazy over the top custom build
- 58 corvette frame off build
- 64 chevelle frame off build
- 72 K5 LT4/10speed swap
- 1990 jeep wagoneer clean up restoration
- 4 22-24 Chevy single cab 4cylinder to V8 supercharged swaps/suspension etc.
- 24 Chevy that we are doing port injection on to try and dial in more power for the new GM platform
- 2019 Silverado cam/turbo install
- 03 Silverado 408 NA engine build
- 07 classic 4wd turbo/ holley 10speed swap
- 99 Chevy turbo, downpipe, suspension job
- 25 f150 whipple build custom paint, suspension, interior
Then add all the parts on top of it. There are 3 of us full time and 2 part time to get it all done.
We want to be able to take care of each and every one of you, however it is just impossible without a lot of growth on our end, which we do not want to do. “The more work the more chances for headaches”.
We are going to dial in our ZR71 program, work on developing our ct5 awd and v8 swap, and want to do an AWD c10 setup and do our higher end classic builds. Anything outside of that will just have to go on our wait list of 2-3 years (maybe longer).
