The Bell Smith Springs Recreation Area Road paving project will begin after the July 4th holiday weekend. Road closures within the site will be staggered to allow for visitor access throughout the project duration but all roads will be impacted at some point. Repairs are expected to take approximately two months. Initially, Hunting Branch Road will be closed for repaving, but Red Bud Campground and the Bell Smith Springs Trailhead will remain open. This road work is in response to public concern about the road conditions and will include replacing culverts, reestablishing ditches and expanding parking capacity.
