In this video, we show a simple bench-testing setup we use for checking Schwintek slide motors and other 12-volt RV components, including switches, motors, and various electrical accessories. We demonstrate how a basic 12-volt battery, an inline switch, and a few test leads can quickly help diagnose whether a component is working before spending time troubleshooting the coach wiring.

This portable setup allows us to apply power directly to the component, verify operation, test motor direction, and isolate failures in motors or switches. It’s an easy, inexpensive tool to keep in the shop that can save a lot of time when diagnosing electrical issues on RV slide systems and other 12-volt equipment.

This video shows a common issue with RV window screens being installed backwards. The screen has a small rubber seal that is designed to fit tightly against the window frame. When the screen is installed the wrong way, it can leave gaps that allow outside air, dust, and bugs to enter the coach.

In this video, we show you how to identify whether your screen is backwards, what the gap looks like, and how the rubber seal should properly sit against the window. We also demonstrate how to remove and reinstall the screen correctly, along with a simple tool that makes the job much easier and helps prevent damage to the screen frame. A quick and easy fix that can improve comfort and keep unwanted pests outside where they belong.

We posted a video on this microwave vent repair a while back, but unfortunately it was muted, so we’re redoing it. In this video, we take a closer look at the microwave vent flapper and, more importantly, the felt seal that the flapper closes against.

We’ll show you:

* What the felt is and why it’s important
* Signs that the felt needs to be replaced
* What to look for during inspection
* How to replace it yourself
* A cost-effective way to repair it without having to repaint the vent cover

If you’ve noticed rattling, poor sealing, or wear around the vent flapper, this video walks you through the process step-by-step and can save you both time and money.

This video covers a unique intermittent slide-out issue on a 2017 Tiffin RED involving the driver’s side front hydraulic slide. The slide would sometimes operate normally, but after holding the switch down, it would unexpectedly reverse direction and retract. At the same time, the driver’s seat adjustment switches were also inoperative.

After diagnosis, we found that the seat pedestal had been installed on top of the wiring harness, pinching and damaging multiple wires. Since the slide control switch wiring is integrated into the driver’s seat and routed through the pedestal, the damaged wiring affected both the seat functions and slide operation.

Inspection revealed several wires that were pinched, cut, and partially severed. We repaired and replaced the damaged wiring to both the seat switches and slide control circuits. Once the wiring was restored, the driver’s seat controls functioned properly again, and the hydraulic slide began operating normally with no intermittent issues.

This repair highlights the importance of inspecting wiring beneath the driver’s seat pedestal when experiencing unusual slide-out or seat control problems on coaches with integrated seat-mounted controls.

“In this video, we explain when and why it’s important to reseal the fuel-fill belt line on your coach. We show the signs of aging sealant, what to look for during inspections, and how water intrusion can cause costly damage if left unchecked. Regular inspection and maintenance of this area can help protect your RV and prevent future repairs.”

Sharp Microwave Replacement in Older Coaches

In this video, we walk through replacing an older Sharp convection microwave with the newer Sharp. Currently available from Home Depot for around $699, this unit is a direct replacement for many older Sharp R-1874 installations found in Tiffin Motorhomes

We tell the differences between the old and new models, including an important change to the door hinge design. The new microwave’s hinge sits slightly farther back, which affects how far the door opens compared to the original unit. You must make sure you get the right ones that opens up without cabinet work.

The video includes photos of the replacement process, installation tips, and things to watch for before mounting the new microwave. We also cover fitment in older coaches and explain why this model continues to be a great replacement option, often using the same mounting dimensions as the original Sharp units. 1874TY fits well, performs great, and preserves the convection and microwave features many RV owners rely on.

In this video, we demonstrate an issue on a 2021 Tiffin Bus that can easily be mistaken for a slide room, hydraulic, or floor system problem. Customers may hear a loud popping or snapping sound during slide operation and assume something is wrong underneath the coach or with the slide mechanism itself.

The actual cause can be much simpler. We show how an awning roller can momentarily hang up during slide movement and then suddenly release, creating a popping noise that sounds like a mechanical failure. We walk through the different awning systems commonly found on Tiffin coaches, explain how they operate, and identify what to inspect when diagnosing these noises.

By understanding how the awning components interact with the slide room, owners and technicians can quickly rule out more serious concerns and avoid unnecessary repairs. The video provides a practical troubleshooting tip that can save time, reduce frustration, and help pinpoint the true source of the noise.
