So now that it’s been a few weeks since Miata Reunion I’ve had some time to reflect on the event. Strap in, it’s story time. Miata Reunion 2026 will forever be unique. Our MR planning team worked hard to pull all the pieces together to make sure we had an event for 2026. Did we have issues? Sure. Did we have people who were upset about things we had no control over? Of course. Let’s wind it back a bit, we’ve been attached to Miata reunion since 2015, and since then we had always looked forward to the event. Obviously seeing Rick and getting hugs in between him running back and forth throughout the paddock. Carving out some time to hide from the chaos and catch up was always something special. Shortly after the 2023 MR event, Rick reached out to me about creating this new team of people who would lead the charge for the future. I was 1000% in. As time went on, ideas for the event changed and so did members of our team. We moved on without some members, and added a couple new ones. We were able to connect with Gridlife Laguna and they welcomed us with open arms and helped to make sure we had a great event for 2026. We seriously cannot thank them enough. Yes we did forgo the track time for 2026, but never say never 😉 I want to make sure I thank our sponsors and vendors who made the commitment to the event. We could not do what we do without you! We set up ‘s beautiful ND with a ton of functional goodies. We installed a set of Xida coilovers and a set of front brakes and stainless steel brake lines from . He didn’t forget about the footwork and went with a set of 16” Volk TE37 Ultras wrapped in a set of Advan Ad09. This is one properly set up roadster! Keeping these roadsters alive and well something we take a lot of pride in. This super low mileage rare 2001 SE NB2 needed some serious updating. This car was purchased recently, and little to no maintenance had been done in the 25 years it had been on the road. The new owner wanted to jump right in and get things squared away. We did its very first front engine service (water pump, timing belt, cam and cranks seals, valve cover gasket and other related gaskets) to bring it all current. Swapped in some new to replace the 10 year old ones that were fitted. We also fully rebuilt the shifter, relubed the assembly, refilled the turret, and replaced both upper and lower boots. This thing shifts like brand new again. The stereo and speakers were also non operational so we swapped in a new pioneer BT head unit, and door speakers to get some audio in. To top everything else off we also added a ace roll bar to make sure this operator stays safe. While this roadster still needs a fair amount of restoration, knocking out a lot of the big drivability concerns will also the owner to safely and reliably enjoy their car as we continue to improve it.
