Oil leaks don’t fix themselves—and a leaking valve cover gasket can lead to oil loss, burnt oil smells, and a messy engine bay.

This vehicle came into Hank’s Automotive Repair with an oil leak traced back to the valve cover gasket. We removed the necessary components, replaced the gasket, and reassembled everything to help keep the engine sealed and running properly.

Regular inspections can catch small leaks before they turn into bigger repairs.

If you’ve noticed oil spots in your driveway, a burning oil smell, or see oil around your engine, let our team take a look.

This battery was found swollen during a routine inspection. When a battery case begins to bulge or expand, it’s a sign that the battery is failing internally and should be replaced as soon as possible.

A failing battery doesn’t always give much warning before it leaves you stranded. That’s why regular inspections are so important.

If your vehicle has been slow to start, showing electrical issues, or if your battery is several years old, stop by and let us test it before it becomes a problem.

💡 Can You Spot the Leak? 💡

Not all leaks leave puddles on the ground. Sometimes it takes specialized equipment to find the source.

In this case, we used UV dye and a blacklight to pinpoint an A/C system leak. The bright green glow under the UV light makes it easy to identify exactly where refrigerant is escaping, allowing us to make the correct repair instead of guessing.

Signs your A/C system may have a leak:
✅ Air not blowing cold
✅ A/C performance getting worse over time
✅ Compressor cycling frequently
✅ Refrigerant needing frequent recharges

If your vehicle’s A/C isn’t keeping up with the heat, let us diagnose it properly and get it fixed right the first time.

This brake rotor has seen better days. Excessive rust, wear, and deterioration can reduce braking performance and compromise your safety on the road.

Signs your brake system may need attention:
✅ Squealing or grinding noises
✅ Vibration when braking
✅ Increased stopping distance
✅ Uneven brake pad wear
✅ Visible rust and rotor damage

Regular brake inspections can catch problems before they become safety concerns or lead to more expensive repairs.

If your vehicle isn’t stopping like it should, let our team take a look.

Oil leaks don’t fix themselves—they only get worse with time. During this repair, we found engine oil leaking from the valve cover gasket, allowing oil to seep down the engine and create a mess.

A leaking valve cover gasket can lead to:
✅ Oil spots in your driveway
✅ Burning oil smells
✅ Smoke from under the hood
✅ Low engine oil levels
✅ Damage to ignition components and wiring

We replaced the valve cover gasket and seals to stop the leak and keep the engine clean and protected.

If you’ve noticed oil leaks, burning oil odors, or fluid spots where you park, it’s a good idea to have your vehicle inspected before a small leak turns into a bigger repair.

Your vehicle’s oxygen sensors play a critical role in monitoring exhaust gases and helping the engine maintain the proper air-fuel mixture. When an oxygen sensor begins to fail, it can cause poor fuel economy, reduced performance, rough running conditions, and trigger a check engine light.

In this repair, we replaced a faulty oxygen sensor to restore proper engine operation and help ensure the emissions system is functioning as designed.

Common signs of a failing oxygen sensor include:
✅ Check engine light illuminated
✅ Poor fuel mileage
✅ Rough idle or hesitation
✅ Failed emissions testing
✅ Increased exhaust emissions

Don’t ignore that check engine light. A simple sensor replacement today can help prevent more expensive repairs down the road.

🔧 Custom Exhaust Repair & Fabrication 🔧

A damaged exhaust system can cause excessive noise, exhaust leaks, reduced performance, and even allow harmful fumes where they don’t belong. In this repair, we fabricated and installed new exhaust piping to replace failing sections and restore proper exhaust flow.

Whether it’s a broken flex pipe, rusted exhaust tubing, or a custom fabrication job, our team has the tools and experience to get it done right.

Don’t ignore exhaust noises, rattles, or leaks. Small problems can quickly become bigger and more expensive repairs.

A worn-out strut assembly can lead to poor ride quality, excessive bouncing, uneven tire wear, and reduced handling. During this repair, we removed the old rusted and worn suspension components and installed a new complete quick-strut assembly to restore ride comfort, vehicle stability, and steering control.

The difference is easy to see—new springs, new strut, and renewed confidence on the road.

If your vehicle is riding rough, making suspension noises, or pulling while driving, it may be time for an inspection.

If your engine stumbles under acceleration, idles rough at red lights, or suddenly triggers a flashing "Check Engine" light, you are likely dealing with a cylinder misfire. We just finished upgrading the ignition system on this vehicle to restore smooth, reliable power.
What you’re seeing in this photo:
This image shows a row of brand-new, premium ignition coils and boots neatly bolted down into the cylinder head. These components sit directly on top of the spark plugs, delivering the high-voltage zap required to ignite the fuel inside your engine efficiently.
Why replacing worn coils and boots matters:
Eliminate Misfires: Over thousands of heat cycles, internal electrical windings inside a coil degrade, leading to a weak or inconsistent spark. Fresh units ensure clean combustion.
Stop Voltage Leaks: The rubber boots extending down to the spark plugs can dry out, crack, or become contaminated with oil. When they fail, the electrical spark will literally punch through the rubber and short out against the engine block instead of firing the plug.
Protect Your Catalytic Converter: Driving with a misfire allows unburned fuel to dump straight into your exhaust system, which can overheat and melt your expensive catalytic converter in short order.
The Hank’s Precision Touch:
Chasing down ignition issues takes the right diagnostic equipment. We don't just guess and throw parts at a problem—we use advanced scan tools to monitor live misfire data, isolate the exact failing cylinders, and inspect the spark plugs while we're in there. When we install new coils, we apply specialized dielectric grease to the boots to lock out moisture and prevent future voltage arc-over.
Don't let a rough idle ruin your daily drive. If your engine is losing its spark, bring it by Hank’s and let our team get it running smooth again!

Remember that heavy-duty engine replacement project we had hanging from the hoist? We’ve officially hit the milestone every mechanic loves to see: the brand-new engine is securely bolted down, fully dressed, and nestled perfectly into the engine bay.
What you’re seeing in this photo:
This is what a fresh start looks like under the hood. The clean, brand-new engine block is in place, and we’ve carefully reassembled the top-end components. From the pristine timing cover and fresh water pump to the completely routed accessory belt drive and the throttle body sitting up top, every piece of this complex puzzle has been meticulously installed.
Why a complete swap is worth the investment:
Zero-Hour Reliability: This vehicle now has a completely fresh heart with internal components that haven't faced years of friction, heat, or heavy towing stress.
Comprehensive Component Refresh: While putting this engine in, we don't just transfer old, tired parts. We install fresh gaskets, new belts, a brand-new water pump, and fresh hoses to make sure the supporting components are just as reliable as the new engine itself.
The Ultimate Second Lease on Life: Instead of taking on years of new commercial vehicle payments, this customer completely reset the clock on their trusted work truck for a fraction of the cost.
The Final Steps:
Now that the heavy mechanical assembly is wrapped up, our crew is moving on to the precision work: refilling the system with fresh fluids, flushing the cooling system, checking the electrical harnesses, and running a complete computer initialization sequence to ensure the vehicle's brain communicates perfectly with its new muscles.
If your trusted truck or daily driver is down for the count with major engine trouble, don't throw in the towel just yet. Bring it to Hank’s and let’s discuss giving it a fresh start!
