Cars & Coffee at Garage 531

We had an incredible turnout for Garage 531’s first Cars & Coffee event!

It was great meeting so many incredible people, sharing stories, and seeing the passion this community has for cars.

And the cars? You guys know how it's done. Some seriously tasteful builds showed up, with a heavy focus on classics. I love seeing that!

Lately, my own focus has shifted toward these older cars. They take a little more effort to keep on the road, but the driving experience they offer is something modern sports cars just can't quite replicate. There's a certain character to them that keeps you coming back.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made our first event such a success. I'm already looking forward to the next Cars & Coffee!

Timing Belt Inspection - Subaru Sambar

This JDM Sambar was recently imported from Japan, and we're taking a closer look under the hood.

Fun fact: It's supercharged!

Before putting this little kei truck to work, let's inspect the timing belt and see what condition it's in. When importing a vehicle with an unknown maintenance history, a little preventative maintenance can go a long way.

Overflow parking is available at Davis Er****on.

I'll be hosting a cruise afterwords. The route should take about 45 minutes. Ending in old town Ashland, Ne. There are a couple ice cream shops and some unique thrift stores. Send me a dm if you're interested.

This Ford Focus Won't Quit

This road warrior is still running strong!

Despite some front end damage. This hatchback refuses to give up.

No leaks and a little rust. She keeps on keeping on.

Situations like this are delicate. It really just makes no sense to try to bring this vehicle back to perfect condition. Everyone has their own situation. So, taking that into consideration. Keep in mind we're setting the bar low, this focus is in decent condition.

We're almost to the finish line!

It's been a long journey to get to this point. Initial inspection of the fuel tank. Coated with flakes and rust.
Fuel pump assembly rebuild. Replacing all the fuel lines at the tank
First start up
Fuel leaks
Idle air issues

We kept pushing. We kept our cool

Now. I think we have everything buttoned up. Let's see how she runs
